Suffolk Strengthens Las Vegas Leadership with New Hire and Promotion

Suffolk, one of the United States’ leading construction companies, is strengthening its leadership team in Southern Nevada with the appointment of Jeff Wood as Executive Vice President of Las Vegas and the promotion of Chris Anderson to Chief Operating Officer of National Gaming and Las Vegas.

The leadership changes are designed to support Suffolk’s continued growth in the Las Vegas market while strengthening relationships with clients, trade partners and project stakeholders. Wood will lead Suffolk’s Las Vegas business, while Anderson will oversee the company’s national gaming portfolio in addition to its Las Vegas operations.

Both executives will focus on applying Suffolk’s technology- and data-driven construction approach to complex projects. Their responsibilities will include improving project planning, supporting dependable execution and helping clients achieve greater schedule certainty. Wood and Anderson will report to Pete Tuffo, President of Suffolk’s Gulf Coast Region, Las Vegas and National Gaming.

Jeff Wood to Lead Suffolk’s Las Vegas Business

As Executive Vice President of Las Vegas, Wood will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of Suffolk’s local operations. His role will include overseeing the company’s project portfolio, strengthening relationships with senior client representatives and ensuring Suffolk’s people and technical resources are aligned with market opportunities and client priorities.

Wood will also work closely with Suffolk’s national gaming leadership to expand the company’s capabilities and relationships across Southern Nevada. His extensive experience in the Las Vegas construction market is expected to support Suffolk’s growth across gaming, hospitality, sports and entertainment projects.

Wood joins Suffolk from McCarthy with more than 25 years of construction industry experience. During his career, he has developed a strong track record delivering major projects in Las Vegas, including Allegiant Stadium, the renovation and expansion of Palms Casino Resort, Circa Resort & Casino and Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas.

His experience includes managing highly complex construction programs involving demanding schedules, extensive coordination and work within active hospitality and entertainment environments. These projects require close collaboration among owners, contractors, designers, trade partners and other stakeholders.

Wood said Las Vegas projects require strong teams, detailed planning and an understanding of how construction decisions can influence the overall client and guest experience. He added that Suffolk’s collaborative culture and technology-focused approach provide a strong foundation for delivering complex projects and supporting the company’s continued momentum in the market.

Chris Anderson Takes Expanded Leadership Role

Alongside Wood’s appointment, Suffolk has promoted Chris Anderson to Chief Operating Officer of National Gaming and Las Vegas. Anderson brings more than 40 years of construction management experience across virtually every stage of project delivery.

Anderson joined Suffolk in 2025 as General Manager of the company’s Las Vegas office. Since then, he has worked closely with clients, project teams and other stakeholders to strengthen Suffolk’s presence and project activity throughout the region.

In his expanded role, Anderson will oversee Suffolk’s national gaming projects while continuing to support the company’s Las Vegas operations. He will focus on aligning teams and resources, strengthening client relationships and maintaining consistent project execution across the company’s portfolio.

His broad construction management background will be particularly valuable for Suffolk’s gaming business, where projects often involve complex operational requirements, demanding schedules and high levels of coordination.

Building Suffolk’s Las Vegas Presence

Suffolk opened its Las Vegas office in 2023 and has continued investing in its local workforce and operations. The company’s expanded presence is intended to strengthen its ability to serve clients throughout Southern Nevada and support the region’s continued development across hospitality, gaming, residential, entertainment and community infrastructure.

Pete Tuffo said Wood’s experience in delivering complex Las Vegas projects, combined with Anderson’s extensive market and industry knowledge, creates a strong leadership team for Suffolk’s next phase of growth.

According to Tuffo, both executives understand the expectations of clients operating in highly visible and schedule-driven environments. Their leadership will help Suffolk’s teams maintain the discipline, collaboration and innovation that are central to the company’s construction approach.

Growing Project Portfolio in Southern Nevada

Suffolk has established a growing portfolio of projects across Las Vegas and the surrounding Southern Nevada market. Its regional work includes Four Seasons Private Residences Las Vegas, the Durango Casino & North Expansion, the Flamingo Las Vegas lobby renovation and Campus for Hope.

The Durango Casino & North Expansion recently reached the halfway point of construction, representing another significant milestone in Suffolk’s Las Vegas portfolio.

Campus for Hope is another notable regional project. The more than 20-acre campus is designed to provide comprehensive services addressing homelessness, adding a major community-focused development to Suffolk’s work in Southern Nevada.

Beyond Las Vegas, Suffolk’s national gaming portfolio includes major developments such as the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Hotel in Hollywood, Florida; Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino in Okeechobee, Florida; Encore Boston Harbor; and Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown, California.

Focus on Future Growth

The appointments of Wood and Anderson reflect Suffolk’s broader focus on strengthening leadership as demand for complex gaming, hospitality and entertainment construction continues across key U.S. markets.

With Wood leading the Las Vegas business and Anderson overseeing national gaming and Las Vegas operations, Suffolk aims to create stronger coordination between its local and national capabilities. The company expects the leadership structure to support closer client relationships, more effective resource allocation and consistent project delivery.

Suffolk’s emphasis on technology and data will also remain central to its approach. By combining experienced leadership with digital tools and data-driven planning, the company aims to improve project predictability, manage complex construction requirements and deliver greater certainty for clients.

The strengthened leadership team positions Suffolk to build on its investments in Las Vegas while continuing to pursue opportunities across gaming, hospitality, sports, entertainment and other major construction sectors.
