Keppel, AIIB to Mobilise USD 1.5B for Sustainable Infrastructure in Asia-Pacific

Keppel Ltd., through its fund management and investment platforms, has entered into a Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to catalyse up to USD 1.5 billion in sustainable infrastructure investments across the Asia Pacific region. The collaboration will target infrastructure projects developed by Keppel and supported through its private funds, with a focus on advancing green, connected, and technology-enabled infrastructure.

The partnership aims to identify and finance projects in sectors such as power transmission and distribution, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, transportation, and urban services. It will leverage Keppel’s expertise in delivering innovative large-scale infrastructure solutions alongside AIIB’s capacity to provide long-term debt and equity financing.

Aligned with AIIB’s Corporate Strategy for 2021–2030, the partnership will run for an initial period of five years, ending in December 2030. In addition to mobilising capital, the collaboration will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices, and strengthening institutional cooperation.

The agreement was signed by Ms Christina Tan, CEO of Fund Management and CIO of Keppel, and Mr Rajat Misra, Acting CIO (Region 1) and Head of Financial Institutions and Funds (Global Clients) at AIIB.

Commenting on the partnership, Ms Tan stated, “Despite growing investments in sustainable infrastructure, Asia Pacific continues to face a significant infrastructure gap driven by rapid urbanisation. We are pleased to deepen our collaboration with AIIB, a long-standing partner with whom we have worked across multiple strategies and asset classes. This partnership combines Keppel’s operational expertise with AIIB’s financial strength to accelerate the region’s transition to a sustainable future.”

Mr Misra added, “Keppel’s strong track record in infrastructure development makes them a valuable partner. This agreement underscores AIIB’s commitment to financing infrastructure that is green, resilient, and regionally connected. We look forward to broadening our collaboration to deliver impactful infrastructure solutions across Asia Pacific.”

Keppel confirmed that the agreement is not expected to have any material impact on its earnings per share or net tangible assets per share for the current financial year.
