KBR was named Company of the Year at this year’s prestigious Association for Project Management (APM) Awards in the UK. The event, which took place in London, was attended by global companies, KBR customers and our partners in project delivery.
The Company of the Year prize is awarded to organizations for their ability to deliver projects effectively and that show a commitment to improving and developing the project profession. KBR’s P3M team, headed by Simon Davies in KBR’s Projects and Programmes division, demonstrated this by instigating several new initiatives. These included the KBR Analytics and Innovation Academy, a digital skills development program, and implementing a portfolio, project management solution (P3M Hub), resulting in a modern and automated project management system. In addition, our corporate people strategies such as leadership training, mentor and mentee schemes, and employee resource groups were also considered in the nomination.
As well as winning Company of the Year, KBR was named as finalists for the APM Sustainability award for the Sewage Treatment Plant Project in Somalia, which is being delivered on behalf of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth and Development Office. The aim of the project is to significantly reduce wastewater disposal from the site and use water sustainably to support the local environment.
“I am grateful to APM for recognizing KBR and validating our P3M team efforts to provide innovative solutions for project delivery that support an organizational change,” said Davies, P3M Program Director.
Winning the Company of the Year award showcases KBR’s commitment to delivering results for clients and to our people by providing a culture where creativity, innovation and collaboration are keys to our success.
