At the end of September, Pradeau Morin completed the complete renovation – exterior and interior – of the Cistercian abbey of Vaux de Cernay. This emblematic project was initiated by KEYS, in partnership with Paris Society, with the aim of making this former abbey a prestigious hotel, where history and modernity meet.
This ambitious project, inaugurated on October 20, includes the transformation of 13 buildings, including the abbey itself, into a hotel with 110 rooms and suites, also including 3 exceptional restaurants and 2 bars. The complex extends over 12,800 m² of net floor space (GVA) and offers a breathtaking space of 80 hectares.
The work began in March 2022 and was completed in September 2023, a challenge overcome in just 18 months.
“The very tight deadline constituted, with the conduct of the work on a classified site, the main challenge,” explains Stéphane Mette , project director.
This colossal project will have mobilized an impressive workforce of 300 workers, including 16 during peak periods for the structural work.
In addition to the careful restoration of the existing structures, the project also included the creation of a cinema room, a karaoke room, a luxurious spa as well as the renovation of the already existing swimming pool. Also, several seminar rooms have been renovated, providing an ideal space for exclusive events.
To carry out this exceptional renovation, other professions of the Eiffage group intervened, notably Eiffage Route in subcontracting and WETEC (Eiffage Énergie Systèmes) in co-contracting, thus guaranteeing the quality and expertise necessary for such project.
This restored building is destined to become a hotel jewel preserving the cultural heritage of the place and offering an unforgettable experience to visitors from around the world. Congratulations to the teams for this remarkable work!
