NCC has been commissioned by Idrætscenter Vendsyssel (ICV) to construct a swim center in North Jutland, Denmark. The project is a turnkey contract, and the order value is approximately SEK 190 million.
The swim center is to be built adjacent to the Vendsyssel sports center and Vrå school. The center will have a 25-meter pool with eight lanes, a play pool with a water slide and a wellness area.
“We have received tremendous support for the project, as we now build one of the most modern swim centers in the North Jutland Region. We look forward to working with NCC and everyone else involved,” says Alex Rasmussen, Director of ICV.
The material choices, with laminated timber construction, sheet metal, stone and glass are based on tried-and-tested solutions that ensure durability with a minimum of maintenance while also contributing architectural, environmental and esthetic value.
“All stages in the construction of a swim center are immensely challenging, as the structure and burden on the materials in this type of environment are very demanding. It places clear requirements on our professional skills and knowledge of the critical elements of the construction process. We are delighted to have secured the assignment,” says Jakob Søe Lundgaard, Area Manager, NCC Building Nordics.
Work will commence in March 2024 and the swim center is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026.
The order value of about SEK 190 million will be registered during the third quarter of 2023 in the NCC Building Nordics business area.
