Peab Begins Construction of 78 New Homes in Tromsø’s Einerhagen Development
Peab has been awarded a contract to construct the first phase of the Einerhagen residential development in Langnes, Tromsø. The project marks a significant step in expanding housing opportunities in one of Northern Norway’s growing urban areas.
The contract has been awarded by Einerhagen Eiendom AS and is valued at NOK 288 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 285 million. The development represents an important investment in creating a modern residential community designed to support Tromsø’s future housing needs.
The first construction phase of Einerhagen will include 78 apartments across two residential buildings. The project will feature a multi-story apartment building offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes, along with a high-rise building containing larger apartments, including spacious four-bedroom units exceeding 100 square meters.
The residential mix is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of residents, from individuals and smaller households to families looking for larger homes. With a combination of apartment sizes and modern layouts, the project aims to create an attractive and diverse living environment in the Langnes area.
“Einerhagen is an important project for us and a very concrete contribution to meeting housing needs in Tromsø. We’re developing a new residential environment that will contribute to local community development in the coming years,” said Even Liahjell, CEO of Arnestedet Eiendom.
Beyond increasing housing capacity, the Einerhagen project has strong sustainability ambitions. The development will focus on protecting existing natural surroundings, improving energy efficiency, and reducing the environmental impact associated with construction activities.
Key sustainability measures include the use of district heating solutions, energy-efficient building systems, and careful management of greenhouse gas emissions throughout the construction process. The project will also prioritize reducing waste and improving resource efficiency during development.
Peab sees Einerhagen as an important project for its operations in Northern Norway, supporting both regional growth and the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable construction solutions.
“We’ve been looking forward to getting started on Einerhagen. This project provides both new housing opportunities in Tromsø and is a significant project for Peab in northern Norway,” said Christian Mæhre, Region Manager at Peab Norway.
The Einerhagen development is planned as a large-scale residential area that will be completed through six construction stages. Once fully developed, the project will include more than 600 homes, creating a new neighborhood with a long-term contribution to Tromsø’s urban expansion.
Einerhagen Eiendom AS, the owner and developer behind the project, is jointly owned by Arnestedet Eiendom and Peab Eiendomsutvikling, with each company holding a 50% ownership stake. The partnership combines local development expertise with Peab’s construction capabilities to deliver the new residential community.
Construction work has already started, with completion of the first phase expected in summer 2028. The project is scheduled to be registered as an order within Peab’s Construction business area during the second quarter of 2026.
The Einerhagen development reflects the continued demand for new housing solutions in Tromsø, where population growth, economic activity, and urban development are increasing the need for well-planned residential areas.
Through the project, Peab aims to contribute not only new homes but also a sustainable neighborhood designed to support future residents and the wider Tromsø community. The combination of modern housing, environmental considerations, and long-term planning positions Einerhagen as a key residential development in the region.
