A central highlight of this investment is the comprehensive restoration of the club’s renowned Tournament Course, completed ahead of the Insperity Invitational, scheduled to take place from May 8 to May 10. This annual PGA TOUR Champions event has become one of the most respected tournaments on the senior circuit, and the upgraded course is expected to showcase its full potential to both players and spectators. Located approximately 30 miles north of Houston, The Woodlands Country Club is preparing to host one of the strongest fields in the tournament’s 23-year history. A major component of the renovation involved rebuilding all greens to restore their original shapes while refining contours to support faster modern playing conditions. The greens were replanted with Tif-Eagle Hybrid Bermudagrass, a premium turf known for its consistency, durability, and suitability for championship-level play. Additional upgrades across the course included resurfacing and expanding tee boxes, repairing cart paths and bridges, and selectively removing trees to improve turf health and visibility. Work was also carried out along pond edges on several holes, improving both aesthetics and playability.
