Veritas Communities Breaks Ground on 866-Acre Liberty Hills Development in Anna, Texas
Veritas Communities, a North Texas land development firm, has celebrated the groundbreaking of Liberty Hills, an 866-acre master-planned community in Anna, Texas. The development is planned to include more than 1,800 single-family homes, resort-style amenities, extensive green spaces, retail stores, grocery options, and dining facilities. Home sales are expected to begin in early 2027.
Located west of U.S. Highway 75 between Rosamond Parkway and Mantua Parkway, Liberty Hills is designed to combine residential living with recreation, shopping, and convenient access to everyday services. The project will feature homes surrounded by mature trees and natural landscapes, with a large pond serving as a central feature of the community.
Veritas Communities marked the start of construction alongside City of Anna officials and representatives from the Anna Economic Development Corporation. The development is expected to contribute to Anna’s continued growth by introducing a range of housing options and neighborhood amenities.
Liberty Hills Combines Homes, Nature, and Recreation
Liberty Hills will offer homes designed to complement the area’s natural topography. Residents will have access to open green spaces, community trails, recreational areas, and resort-style facilities intended to support an active lifestyle.
Select homesites will border the neighboring Hurricane Creek Country Club golf course, providing expansive views of the course. Residents will also have the option to purchase memberships at the private club, which offers golf, dining, and other amenities just minutes from the community.
Kevin Lazares, co-founder and managing member of Veritas Communities, said Anna’s rapid growth, collaborative leadership, and enthusiasm for the future presented an opportunity to create a development that brings more aspects of daily life together in one location.
He explained that Liberty Hills is intended to provide convenient access to groceries, recreation, and opportunities for neighbors to connect. The development’s mix of residential, commercial, and recreational elements is designed to make everyday activities more accessible to residents.
Across the community, approximately 217 acres will be dedicated to amenities, open spaces, and preserved native areas. A connected trail network will link residents to recreational facilities and outdoor spaces throughout the development.
Two Residential Neighborhoods Begin Construction
Construction is underway in two residential neighborhoods at Liberty Hills: The Preserve at Liberty Hills and The Greens at Liberty Hills. Six homebuilders will participate in the initial development phases, offering a range of homes for prospective buyers.
The Preserve at Liberty Hills
The Preserve will feature 991 single-family homes built by William Ryan Homes, David Weekley Homes, and Sandlin Homes. The neighborhood will include a variety of recreational facilities and community spaces designed for residents of different ages.
Planned amenities include a climate-controlled amenity center with event space, an outdoor pavilion, and an open-air kitchen. Residents will also have access to a resort-style swimming pool, playground, recreation lawns, putting green, fishing pier, and community trails.
An overlook deck featuring a fireplace and views of the community pond will provide an additional gathering space for residents.
Trails and pocket parks are expected to begin opening in summer 2027, while the amenity center is anticipated to open in early 2028. Home sales in The Preserve are expected to begin in early 2027.
The Greens at Liberty Hills
The Greens will include 451 single-family homes developed by Grand Homes, Perry Homes, and Shaddock Homes. Its amenities will focus on outdoor recreation and community gatherings.
Planned facilities include a covered outdoor pavilion with a dual-sided fireplace, an open-air kitchen, grill stations, a resort-style pool, cabanas, a playground, and recreation lawns.
These features are intended to provide residents with spaces for relaxation, outdoor activities, and social events. Home sales in The Greens are expected to begin in late 2027.
Together, the two neighborhoods will introduce a substantial number of new homes while establishing the residential foundation for the wider Liberty Hills master-planned community.
Homes and Pricing at Liberty Hills
Single-family homes at Liberty Hills are expected to range from approximately 1,800 to 4,000 square feet. Anticipated prices will start in the $400,000s and extend to around $1 million, offering options across several home sizes and price points.
The combination of residential choices, recreational facilities, green spaces, and nearby shopping is intended to serve buyers seeking a community with access to everyday conveniences and outdoor amenities.
The development’s scale will also allow for the integration of preserved natural areas and landscaped spaces alongside its residential neighborhoods and commercial facilities.
Retail and Grocery Development to Support Residents
Liberty Hills will include shopping, grocery, and dining options near the community’s entrance at the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 75 and Rosamond Parkway.
The commercial area will be anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market and include an additional 30,000 square feet of leasable retail space. According to an announcement from the City of Anna, construction of the commercial area is anticipated to begin in December 2026.
The planned retail component is intended to bring everyday services closer to residents while supporting the broader development of the surrounding area.
Liberty Hills residents will also have convenient access to the future Rosamond Corners development on the east side of U.S. Highway 75. That project is expected to be anchored by Kroger Marketplace, providing another potential destination for grocery shopping and related services.
By incorporating retail and dining opportunities near its residential areas, Liberty Hills aims to establish a neighborhood where residents can access a range of daily needs without traveling far from home.
