Evolution Hospitality Names Matthew Boettcher SVP of Operations
Evolution Hospitality, the lifestyle, boutique, and soft-brand division of Aimbridge Hospitality, has announced the appointment of Matthew Boettcher as Senior Vice President of Operations. The move reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening its leadership team and expanding its presence within the rapidly growing lifestyle and boutique hotel sector.
Boettcher brings more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience to the role, with expertise spanning hotel operations, brand development, strategic growth, and food and beverage innovation. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with premium, lifestyle, and soft-brand hotel portfolios, helping organizations enhance guest experiences while improving operational performance and profitability.
In his new position, Boettcher will oversee operations across Evolution Hospitality’s lifestyle, soft-brand, and premium hotel portfolio. His responsibilities will include driving operational efficiency, enhancing property performance, supporting owner returns, and elevating the overall guest experience across the company’s collection of hotels.
The appointment comes at a time when demand for lifestyle and boutique hotels continues to rise among travelers and investors alike. Industry trends show that guests are increasingly seeking personalized, design-driven hospitality experiences that combine local culture, high-end service, and distinctive food and beverage offerings. As a result, hotel owners and management companies are placing greater emphasis on operational leaders who can successfully balance brand identity, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
According to company leadership, Boettcher’s extensive operational background and proven track record in the premium hospitality segment make him well-positioned to help Evolution Hospitality strengthen its competitive position in the market.
“As lifestyle and soft brands remain one of the fastest-growing segments in hospitality, the expectations from both owners and guests have never been higher,” said Chris Tatum, President of the Full Service Division for Aimbridge and Evolution Hospitality. “Matthew brings the leadership, operational depth, and food and beverage expertise we need to meet and exceed those expectations as we continue expanding our position in the segment. He is uniquely positioned to help create distinctive experiences that drive strong results and increase profitability for owners.”
Before joining Evolution Hospitality, Boettcher served as Vice President and Category Leader for Premium & Endorsed Brands at Marriott International. During his time there, he led strategic initiatives for several well-known hospitality brands, including Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, Westin, Renaissance Hotels, and Le Méridien.
In that role, Boettcher was responsible for overseeing brand operations across a broad portfolio of properties. His work focused on improving operational consistency, supporting hotel growth strategies, enhancing guest experience innovation, and strengthening brand positioning in competitive markets. He also collaborated closely with hotel owners and operators to improve financial performance and maximize returns.
One of Boettcher’s key strengths is his experience in food and beverage strategy and innovation, an increasingly important component of lifestyle and boutique hospitality. Over the years, he has worked on developing bar and restaurant concepts designed to enhance hotel identity while also driving revenue growth and operational efficiency.
As a trained sommelier, Boettcher has experience ranging from luxury fine dining establishments to large-scale premium hotel operations. His approach to food and beverage emphasizes creating memorable dining experiences that align closely with each hotel’s brand personality and guest expectations. Industry observers note that strong F&B programming has become a major differentiator in the lifestyle hospitality sector, helping hotels attract both travelers and local customers.
Evolution Hospitality expects Boettcher’s expertise in this area to support the development of innovative restaurant and bar programs across its portfolio, further strengthening guest engagement and profitability.
Commenting on his appointment, Boettcher expressed enthusiasm about joining Evolution Hospitality during a period of continued industry transformation and growth.
“I’m thrilled to join Evolution Hospitality at this important moment for the company,” he said. “The lifestyle and soft-brand segments represent some of the most dynamic opportunities in hospitality today. Evolution has built a strong foundation of operational excellence and owner partnerships, and I look forward to working with this talented team while supporting our general managers and associates in creating memorable guest experiences that reflect modern travel demand.”
Boettcher’s educational background also reflects his strong foundation in both business leadership and hospitality management. He earned a Master of Business Administration from William & Mary and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the Isenberg School of Management.
Based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Boettcher will report directly to Chris Tatum as he assumes leadership of operational initiatives across Evolution Hospitality’s expanding portfolio.
With this appointment, Evolution Hospitality aims to further strengthen its position within the premium lifestyle hotel segment, focusing on operational excellence, guest-centric experiences, and long-term value creation for hotel owners and partners.
