NCC has been commissioned by Boliden to construct a new sand recycling facility in Boliden, Skellefteå. The project includes the development of a sand recycling building, a silo, a media bridge, and several of the plant’s technical installations.
“This project brings together multiple areas of expertise within NCC. Our extensive experience with complex, large-scale construction in demanding environments—especially in the mining and industrial sectors—positions us as a reliable partner for Boliden in delivering this vital facility,” says Kenneth Nilsson, Head of NCC Infrastructure.
In addition to this project, NCC is also engaged in the reconstruction of Boliden’s electrolysis plant at Rönnskär in Skelleftehamn.
Construction of the sand recycling facility is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with completion expected in 2026. The project will be recorded as an order in the NCC Infrastructure Sweden business area during the second quarter of 2025.
