James Campbell Company Names Claudia Walraven as New COO

​The James Campbell Company LLC (JCC), a prominent Hawai‘i-based private real estate investment firm with a portfolio valued at $4.6 billion, has appointed Claudia V. Walraven as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). This strategic move not only brings a seasoned professional into the company’s leadership but also signifies the relocation of the COO role from San Francisco to Hawai‘i, reinforcing JCC’s commitment to its roots and the communities it serves.​

A Distinguished Career in Real Estate Investment

Claudia Walraven brings over two decades of extensive experience in institutional real estate investment management to her new role at JCC. Most recently, she served as the Head of Asset Management for commercial properties at Kennedy Wilson, a publicly traded real estate investment company with assets totaling $25 billion. During her tenure, she oversaw significant projects, including the development of the luxury Kohanaiki community and the redevelopment of the Kona Village Resort on Hawai‘i Island. Kennedy Wilson was also the owner of Dillingham Ranch on Oahu’s North Shore until its sale in 2023 for $36.5 million .​

Prior to her role at Kennedy Wilson, Walraven held key positions at Clarion Partners and served as a principal at CBRE Global Investors. Her responsibilities in these roles encompassed acquisitions, portfolio and fund management, fundraising, investor relations, and asset management. Throughout her career, she has completed over $11 billion in transactions across the United States .​

Educational Background and Community Engagement

Walraven holds an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana. Beyond her professional achievements, she has been actively involved in charitable work, contributing to organizations such as The Center for Early Education and Brentwood Middle School in Los Angeles, California

Strategic Significance of the Appointment

The decision to appoint Walraven as COO and relocate the position to Hawai‘i underscores JCC’s dedication to strengthening its leadership presence within the state.
