Turner Joint Venture Celebrates Milestone on $185M Texas A&M-Fort Worth Project

The Turner Construction Company, alongside joint venture partners CARCON Industries and Source Building Group, has achieved a significant milestone in the development of the Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus. The team celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the Law and Education Building, marking the completion of vertical construction. This milestone represents a critical step in the creation of a state-of-the-art facility designed to support Texas A&M University’s professional programs and foster academic and industry partnerships.

The eight-story, 238,000-square-foot facility will house a range of professional programs, including the Texas A&M School of Law, Texas A&M University, Tarleton State University, and various Texas A&M engineering, agriculture, emergency management, and health sciences programs. As the initial phase of a larger multi-phase project to develop the Texas A&M University System Campus in downtown Fort Worth, this building is set to become a key hub for innovation, education, and economic development in the region.

The facility’s design aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications, helping students prepare for the workforce while simultaneously driving economic growth. The Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus is envisioned as a center for collaboration across academic disciplines and industries, creating a vibrant ecosystem that will attract talent, investment, and partnerships from across the region and beyond.

“This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire project team,” said Nick Barker, Vice President and General Manager at Turner Construction Company. “The topping-out ceremony signifies more than just the completion of vertical construction—it marks an important step toward delivering a facility that will shape the future of education and workforce readiness. We are honored to work with Texas A&M to bring their vision to life and to create a space that will positively impact students and the community for years to come.”

Once completed, the Law and Education Building will provide a modern, collaborative space for academic excellence and innovation. It will serve as the new home for the highly regarded Texas A&M School of Law and a center for interdisciplinary education and research. The facility is expected to enhance the University’s ability to prepare students for contemporary professional challenges while supporting regional economic growth through partnerships and workforce development initiatives.

The topping-out celebration brought together project stakeholders, including university representatives, construction teams, and community members, highlighting the shared commitment to this transformative project.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, the Law and Education Building represents the beginning of a new chapter for Texas A&M-Fort Worth, solidifying its role as a leader in education, innovation, and community impact.
