LP Building Solutions (LP) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting U.S. veterans by donating LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding for a specially adapted, mortgage-free home for retired U.S. Army Sergeant Joshua Hargis. Hargis, a decorated Army Ranger and K9 handler, served four tours in Afghanistan and sustained severe injuries during his final deployment. The home was built through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program, designed to provide wounded heroes like Hargis with a comfortable and accessible living space.
“We are honored to contribute to Sergeant Hargis’ new home and support him and his family as they begin this next chapter,” said LP Executive Vice President and General Manager of Siding, Jason Ringblom.
This donation underscores LP’s long-standing dedication to veterans, timed with the observance of Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in Canada. The project highlights the power of public-private partnerships, with LP’s support playing a key role in meeting Hargis’ specific needs.
LP will commemorate the home’s dedication on Nov. 12, following their earlier recognition of Hargis at the 2023 Tennessee Titans’ Salute to Service game. In addition to the SmartSide® products, LP Foundation has provided financial backing for the construction, further cementing their partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation, which LP named as its national nonprofit partner in 2022.
