At the 2024 AASHTO Annual Meeting & Expo, Blyncsy, a subsidiary of Bentley Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: BSY), announced the release of a detailed public map of interstate highways across the continental United States. This map highlights essential roadway assets such as guardrails, speed limit signs, and work zones to enhance safety and streamline maintenance for state DOT agencies, especially in times of natural disasters.
Utilizing dash camera imagery from over a million vehicles, combined with Blyncsy’s advanced AI image analysis, the map detects over 40 roadway conditions and asset issues in near-real time. This includes identifying damaged guardrails, missing signage, improper road striping, and work zone hazards.
Blyncsy’s data, available via an open API, offers state DOTs a scalable, cost-efficient alternative to traditional inspection methods, such as LiDAR or manual road surveys.
