Vantage Data Centers Invests $2B in New 192MW Campus, Enters Ohio Market

Vantage Data Centers, a global leader in hyperscale data center campuses, has officially entered Ohio’s expanding data center market, responding to strong demand for scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure. With an investment exceeding $2 billion, Vantage’s new OH1 campus near Columbus will create over 1,500 jobs during construction and ongoing operations, marking Vantage’s seventh North American market.

Located in New Albany, OH1 spans 70 acres and will deliver 192MW of IT capacity across 1.5 million square feet, supporting cloud and AI technology. The first building is expected to open in late 2025. Designed with Vantage’s sustainable principles, the campus aims for LEED Silver accreditation and aligns with the company’s 2030 net-zero carbon commitment.

“Ohio is a strategic addition to our North American footprint, and we appreciate the warm welcome from the local community,” said Dana Adams, President of North America at Vantage Data Centers. “Our New Albany campus will strengthen Ohio’s economy and enhance its position as a tech hub, while our partnerships with the New Albany Community Foundation and Columbus State Community College Foundation will bolster workforce development and support local initiatives in education, health, and housing.”

Today’s groundbreaking ceremony featured key representatives from Vantage, Turner Construction, and local officials, including New Albany Mayor Sloan Spalding. “We are thrilled to welcome Vantage Data Centers to New Albany,” said Spalding. “Vantage’s commitment to operational excellence and environmental responsibility aligns closely with our community values, and we look forward to a longstanding partnership.”

Dave Brewster of JobsOhio noted, “Vantage’s investment will drive positive impacts in technology, innovation, and the local economy, supporting job growth and digital infrastructure for Ohio’s evolving tech landscape.”
