Leighton Asia, a CIMIC Group company, has secured a contract from the Elan Group to construct a retail mall, hotel, and serviced apartment tower in Gurgaon, India. This project is expected to generate approximately A$87 million in revenue for Leighton Asia.
CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are pleased that Leighton Asia has been chosen to deliver another significant project for the Elan Group, with whom we are already collaborating on a major residential development.”
Leighton Asia Managing Director Brad Davey highlighted the importance of this achievement, saying, “This win strengthens Leighton Asia’s strong foothold in the real estate sector and our expanding presence in India. We are honored to have the Elan Group’s trust and are committed to fulfilling their expectations.”
The project, located in Sector 82, spans 3.1 hectares and includes a total built-up area of approximately 207,000 square meters. It will feature a retail mall with three basements, a lower and upper ground floor, five retail floors, five hotel floors, and 17 serviced apartment floors, complete with a skybar and terrace.
Leighton Asia’s responsibilities for this project encompass earthworks, structural and civil works, electrical and plumbing installations, as well as the construction of underground and overhead water tanks.
The development aims to achieve a 4-star rating under the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA). Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2024, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2027.
