Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (NYSE: WMS) (“ADS”), a leading provider of innovative water management solutions for stormwater and onsite septic wastewater, has entered into a strategic partnership with Geoplast, an Italian leader in recycled plastic solutions for sustainable construction. Together, they will distribute the Aquabox, a modular, high-capacity stormwater retention and detention system, in the United States. The Aquabox is designed to create flexible underground storage for stormwater retention, infiltration, disposal, or harvesting for reuse. Geoplast is known for its innovative products in construction, stormwater management, urban greening, and landscaping.
“Geoplast shares our dedication to designing innovative solutions that protect the environment and build resilient communities,” said Brian King, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Product Management, and Sustainability at ADS. “This commitment is reflected in the Aquabox, which is engineered to help manage and protect water—the world’s most valuable resource. Geoplast is crucial in developing sustainable stormwater management infrastructure.”
The Aquabox system offers versatile solutions for stormwater retention and detention, featuring an open cellular design that allows stormwater runoff to distribute freely between modules. This design enables the water to be stored, collected, and released with a time delay, helping to mitigate flooding risks in urban areas. With its high mechanical resistance, Aquabox can be installed in dense urban environments.
“ADS’s focus on managing the entire lifecycle of the raindrop made them the perfect partner as we introduce our innovative solutions to U.S. customers,” said Giulio Paolin, Export Manager for North and Latin America at Geoplast. “As heavy rainfall and urban expansion increase, the need for efficient and sustainable stormwater management solutions like Aquabox becomes more critical.”
