Two multi-year contracts with a total value of €53 million,VINCI expands its presence on the American market with a first contract in the state of Georgia
The Georgia State Highway Authority (SRTA) has entrusted VINCI Highways, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, with the management of transactions for its 107 km network around Atlanta, using free flow and dynamic pricing1. The contract also integrates transaction management of the “E-ZPass” program, interoperable with the road networks of 18 other American states and with the parking lots of Atlanta International Airport. The contract, lasting 7 years, will be operated by ViaPlus, a subsidiary of VINCI Highways specializing in free-flow traffic systems 1 .
Furthermore, in Texas, VINCI Highways won the video image review service from the Harris County Highway Authority (HCTRA), which operates a free-flow network serving Houston and its region. The contract, lasting 19 months with several extension options, aims to optimize toll collection by the authority using the optical recognition plate reading system developed by ViaPlus.
These two contracts, with a total value of approximately €53 million, enable VINCI Highways to strengthen its presence in the American toll services market, by winning its first contract in the state of Georgia, and by developing its activities in Texas where since 2018 it has managed the transactions of the road authorities in the north and central part of the state.
With the recent integration of the concession for a portion of the Denver ring road, VINCI Highways is now present in six American states: Colorado, California, Texas, Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky.
