The Tennessee Builders Alliance (TBA) celebrated the beginning of construction of the New Nissan Stadium, the future home of the Tennessee Titans, with a groundbreaking ceremony in Nashville on Feb. 29. The ceremony was attended by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, and Tennessee Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk. Community partners, Titans Alumni, and fans also joined the celebration to help kick off the transformational project for the region.
“We are thrilled to begin construction on this monumental project,” said John Gromos, Principal-in-Charge for TBA. “We aim to set a new standard with this project for stadium construction, safety practices, local business development, and community involvement. We look forward to working with the Tennessee Titans, the City of Nashville, the entire design team, and our trade partners to deliver a world-class facility for our community.”
TBA is a joint venture partnership of Turner Construction Company, AECOM Hunt, Polk & Associates Construction, and I.C.F. Builders & Consultants. The group has extensive experience building iconic sports facilities across the country and deep ties to the Middle Tennessee community.
As construction manager for the project, TBA will implement programs to support local small and diverse businesses and create training and employment opportunities for individuals. More information on these programs is available at http://www.tnbuildersalliance.com.
The new stadium will be built along Nashville’s East Bank. Features of the building include: a circular translucent roof; exterior porches with panoramic views of Nashville; improved sightlines for all spectators through a range of diverse seating experiences; and a 12,000 square foot community space available to host the community’s most impactful events year-round.
Home to the Tennessee Titans, the 1.8-million-square-foot stadium will host Titans home games, Tennessee State University football games, concerts, and community events. It will be capable of hosting world-class events such as Super Bowls, Final Fours, College Football Playoffs, and much more.
