Bechtel Awards Initial Contracts for Nuclear Power Plant to Polish Suppliers

Partnerships with local supply chain crucial to delivering Poland’s nuclear power plant

Bechtel today announced that it has awarded its first procurement contracts for the construction of Poland’s first nuclear power plant.

Maximizing opportunities for local suppliers strengthens Bechtel’s ability to support the community and deliver quality projects. Our first procurement contracts will go to Polish suppliers.

The selected companies represent a range of industries and include translation, logistics, and technical services, laying the foundation for enduring partnerships between Bechtel and Polish suppliers. The companies who have signed agreements to partner with Bechtel on this groundbreaking project include:

  • Energoprojekt – Katowice S.A. is one of the largest design and engineering companies in Europe. EPK will provide services for codes and standards, environmental permitting strategy, and will be provided opportunities for supporting permitting documentation.

“Bechtel has been at the forefront of delivering nuclear power for 70 years, and one of the most important lessons we have learned is that partnerships at the local level are critical to a project’s success,” said Jared DeMeritt, Bechtel Project Manager. “This project will provide energy security and boost economic development, supporting Poland for generations to come.”

“The potential reach of this project is extraordinary,” said Margaret Jackson, Bechtel’s Supply Chain Manager for the Poland nuclear project. “This project paves the way for future collaborations. We look forward to securing additional partnerships with Polish suppliers to support this important work.”

Bechtel maintains a complex and geographically vast network of suppliers, with an emphasis on diversity and collaboration. Cooperation opportunities are available to companies familiar with nuclear projects, as well as to those who are interested in gaining nuclear business experience going forward.
