Hilton Grand Vacations Opens Ka Haku, a Hilton Club in Waikiki

Hilton Grand Vacations Inc., a vacation ownership and experiences company, has officially opened Ka Haku, a Hilton Club in the heart of Waikiki, Hawaii. The new resort marks an important milestone for the company as it becomes the first Hilton Club-branded property in Hawaii and the company’s 14th resort in the state.

Ka Haku introduces a boutique vacation ownership experience designed around a more personalized and curated approach. The property features 205 accommodations, including studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom suites. Guests and owners can choose from accommodations offering views of the Pacific Ocean, surrounding mountains and Honolulu’s cityscape.

The resort also includes a range of facilities designed to support both relaxation and longer stays. Amenities include an arrival and departure lounge, a modern fitness center, a swimming pool and a bar. An exclusive owners lounge is also available for Ka Haku owners, providing a dedicated space within the property.

“Bringing the Hilton Club brand to Hawaii for the first time is a defining moment for us,” said Mark Wang, CEO of Hilton Grand Vacations. “It’s the most exclusive experience in our portfolio, and Ka Haku honors that standard in every detail. As we celebrate 25 years in Hawaii, this milestone underscores our enduring commitment to Waikiki, which we intend to sustain for the long term through investment in this community, its culture and its people.”

A Focus on Hawaiian Culture and Design

Ka Haku was developed around a concept of quiet luxury, combining contemporary architecture with cultural elements inspired by Hawaii. The design incorporates storytelling connected to Princess Kaiulani, as well as references to the natural landscapes and cultural heritage of the islands.

The resort aims to provide a refined environment while maintaining a connection with its Waikiki surroundings. Its location places guests within walking distance of the central Waikiki area, providing convenient access to the destination’s beaches, attractions, restaurants and entertainment.

Sustainability is also incorporated into the property’s design and operations. Ka Haku uses energy-efficient building systems, water conservation measures, sustainable site features and environmentally responsible materials. These features are intended to support long-term environmental performance while creating a comfortable environment for owners and guests.

One of the resort’s distinctive features is Waikiki’s first Japanese-style bathhouse, which includes a large communal bath, sauna and cold bath. The facility adds another wellness-oriented amenity to the resort and provides owners and guests with an additional setting for relaxation.

Resort Experience

Robert Ishihara, general manager of Ka Haku, said the resort represents the culmination of extensive work by the team and emphasized the importance of creating a welcoming environment for members and guests.

“Ka Haku’s opening is a moment our entire team has been building toward, and there’s real pride in the experience we will share as we welcome members and guests to the resort,” said Ishihara. “From the moment members and guests arrive, our goal is to make every visit feel like coming home, creating meaningful experiences that inspire their story and stay with them long after they leave.”

The resort’s combination of accommodations, wellness facilities and dedicated owner spaces is intended to create an experience that differs from HGV’s other properties in Hawaii. Its Hilton Club branding further positions the property within HGV’s more curated vacation ownership offering.

Economic Contribution to Hawaii

The opening of Ka Haku also brings an economic contribution to the local hospitality industry. According to Hilton Grand Vacations, the resort has created nearly 200 full-time hospitality positions.

The development also supported more than 400 local jobs during construction, contributing to employment beyond the resort’s ongoing operations. HGV said it supports nearly 1,800 jobs across Hawaii, highlighting the company’s broader presence in the state.

The resort’s opening comes as Hilton Grand Vacations marks 25 years in Hawaii. The company has continued to expand its presence in the islands through its portfolio of vacation ownership properties, making the new Waikiki resort part of a long-term strategy in the state.

Investment in Kuhio Beach Park

Alongside the resort’s development, Hilton Grand Vacations has made a contribution toward the surrounding Waikiki community. In coordination with the City and County of Honolulu, the company donated $1 million toward the revitalization of Kuhio Beach Park.

Kuhio Beach Park is a major public space in Waikiki used by both residents and visitors. The contribution will support improvements related to safety, maintenance and the overall visitor and community experience at the park.

The donation forms part of HGV’s broader community engagement efforts in Hawaii. Through its HGV Serves corporate social responsibility program, the company has contributed more than $200,000 to Hawaii nonprofit organizations during the year.

HGV employees have also participated in community initiatives, contributing more than 1,600 volunteer hours to support over 30 nonprofit organizations across the state.

A New Addition to Waikiki

With the opening of Ka Haku, a Hilton Club, Hilton Grand Vacations expands its Hawaii portfolio while introducing the Hilton Club brand to the state for the first time. The 205-unit resort combines vacation ownership accommodations with wellness, hospitality and owner-focused amenities in a central Waikiki location.

The project also represents a combination of tourism investment, employment creation and community support. Through the resort’s operations, construction activity, environmental features and contribution to Kuhio Beach Park, Ka Haku adds a new component to Waikiki’s hospitality landscape while continuing HGV’s long-term presence in Hawaii.
