Peab to Build New Production and Office Facility in Landskrona
Peab has been commissioned by Hitachi Energy Sweden AB to renovate and extend production and office facilities in Landskrona, Sweden, in a contract valued at SEK 349 million. The project will modernize an existing facility and create upgraded working environments to support Hitachi Energy’s continued operations and growth in the region.
The development will involve the renovation and extension of an existing building located in eastern Landskrona, just north of the city’s train station. The facility will cover a total area of approximately 24,000 square meters, making it a significant construction and modernization project for both Peab and Hitachi Energy.
Of the total area, approximately 18,000 square meters will consist of production halls, while the remaining 6,000 square meters will provide office space. The combination of modern production facilities and upgraded offices is expected to create a more efficient and suitable environment for Hitachi Energy’s employees and operations.
The project will be carried out as a turnkey contract, with Peab responsible for delivering the construction works in cooperation with Hitachi Energy. Work is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with completion expected in March 2028.
A key element of the project will be its focus on sustainability and building performance. The renovation and extension will be implemented in accordance with the requirements of Miljöbyggnad Silver 4.0 for Renovation certification. The Swedish environmental certification system evaluates several aspects of a building’s environmental performance, supporting efforts to create healthier and more sustainable buildings.
For Peab, the project also represents another major collaboration with Hitachi Energy. The two companies have already worked together on several significant projects, and the Landskrona development will become their fourth major joint project.

The scale and mixed-use nature of the development will require careful coordination throughout the construction period to ensure that the facility meets the required quality, workplace and operational standards.
For Hitachi Energy, the investment in Landskrona forms part of its broader growth plans in Sweden. The company has highlighted the importance of the location as it continues to expand its activities and contribute to the development of future energy infrastructure.

The renovation and extension will transform the existing facility while providing additional and improved space for production and administrative activities. The project’s 18,000 square meters of production halls will represent the largest portion of the development, while the 6,000 square meters of office space will provide modern facilities for employees and support functions.
The location near Landskrona’s train station also provides the project with a strategically positioned site within the city. As work progresses, Peab and Hitachi Energy will need to coordinate the renovation, extension and construction activities to deliver the completed facility according to the agreed schedule.
The SEK 349 million contract highlights the scale of the investment and further strengthens Peab’s relationship with Hitachi Energy. It also adds another major project to Peab’s portfolio of industrial and commercial construction work in Sweden.
Construction is scheduled to commence in September 2026. The project is expected to reach completion in March 2028, when the renovated and extended facility will provide approximately 24,000 square meters of production and office space for Hitachi Energy in Landskrona.
Through the project, Peab will combine renovation and new construction while working toward Miljöbyggnad Silver 4.0 certification requirements. The development is expected to support Hitachi Energy’s long-term operations in Landskrona and its continued expansion of Sweden’s energy infrastructure.
