Fortune Brands Innovations Appoints Peter G. Clifford as Chief Financial Officer
Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc, an industry-leading company focused on home, security and digital products, has announced the appointment of Peter G. Clifford as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Clifford will officially assume the role on September 21, 2026, following his appointment by the company’s Board of Directors.
The leadership appointment brings more than three decades of financial and operational experience to Fortune Brands Innovations. Throughout his career, Clifford has held senior finance positions across the building products, healthcare and industrial sectors, including serving as chief financial officer and chief operating officer for publicly traded companies.
His extensive background is expected to support Fortune Brands as the company continues to focus on operational execution, productivity, financial performance and long-term growth. Clifford has developed experience in areas including global operations, finance transformation, mergers and acquisitions and corporate financial management.
Most recently, Clifford served as Chief Financial Officer of Filtration Group Corporation, a position he held from February 2025 through August 2026. During his career, he has also served as CFO and COO at The AZEK Company and Cantel Medical, giving him experience leading financial organizations while working closely with broader business operations.
Before taking on his three CFO positions, Clifford held a number of finance leadership roles at IDEX Corporation and General Electric. These positions provided him with broad exposure to industrial operations, financial planning, business transformation and global organizations.
Clifford’s background extends beyond traditional financial management. His experience working directly with manufacturing and supply chain operations has given him an understanding of the operational factors that influence financial performance. He has also developed expertise in communicating with investors and shareholders, helping companies explain their strategies and financial priorities clearly.
Fortune Brands Chief Executive Officer Jesse Singh welcomed Clifford to the company and highlighted his practical approach to finance and operations.
“Pete is a disciplined leader who has led businesses to strengthen execution, improve financial processes and create long-term value,” Singh said. He added that Clifford brings a pragmatic and balanced approach to finance and operations and understands the day-to-day challenges involved in managing manufacturing and supply chain activities.
According to Singh, Clifford’s practical perspective is expected to help Fortune Brands improve execution and strengthen the company as it pursues its strategic priorities. His experience is particularly relevant as the company continues to focus on operational performance, productivity and sustainable growth.
Clifford’s appointment comes at an important time for Fortune Brands Innovations as the company continues to develop its portfolio of products serving the home, security and digital markets. Strong financial leadership will be important as the company manages investments, evaluates growth opportunities and works to improve operational efficiency.
The company’s diverse portfolio requires financial leadership that can balance long-term investment with disciplined cost management and effective resource allocation. Clifford’s experience across multiple industries and his background in mergers and acquisitions are expected to provide additional capabilities as Fortune Brands evaluates opportunities to strengthen its business.
His experience in finance transformation could also help the company continue modernizing its financial processes and improving the way financial information supports decision-making. Effective finance functions increasingly play a strategic role in identifying productivity opportunities, managing resources and supporting business growth.
In addition to Clifford’s appointment, Fortune Brands announced a new role for Ashley George, who has been serving as the company’s Interim Chief Financial Officer. Following Clifford’s arrival, George will assume the position of Senior Vice President, Finance, a role she previously held.
George will continue contributing to Fortune Brands’ efforts to strengthen execution and improve productivity. In her new position, she will also support the company’s efforts to align resources with its most important growth opportunities.
The transition is designed to provide continuity within Fortune Brands’ finance organization while adding Clifford’s extensive leadership experience to the company’s executive team. George’s familiarity with the organization and its financial priorities will allow her to continue supporting key initiatives while working alongside the new CFO.
The combination of Clifford’s external experience and George’s existing knowledge of Fortune Brands is expected to strengthen the company’s financial leadership structure. Together, the finance team will remain focused on improving operational execution, increasing productivity and supporting the company’s strategic objectives.
Clifford’s more than 30 years of experience provide a broad foundation across financial management, operations, manufacturing and corporate strategy. His previous leadership positions have also exposed him to complex business environments requiring disciplined execution and effective stakeholder communication.
As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Clifford will be responsible for helping guide Fortune Brands’ financial strategy while working closely with the company’s executive leadership team and operational organizations. His role will include supporting the company’s efforts to create long-term value for shareholders while maintaining a strong focus on execution.
The appointment reflects Fortune Brands Innovations’ continued emphasis on experienced leadership and operational discipline. With Clifford joining the executive team and George continuing in a senior finance role, the company is positioned to maintain momentum on productivity initiatives and strategic growth opportunities.
As Clifford begins his new position on September 21, 2026, Fortune Brands will look to leverage his financial and operational expertise to strengthen performance, improve processes and support the company’s long-term objectives across its home, security and digital product businesses.
