Comfort Systems USA, Inc, a leading provider of commercial, industrial and institutional heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and electrical contracting services, has announced a series of leadership changes designed to strengthen the company’s operations and support its continued growth strategy.

Effective July 1, 2026, Craig Sasser, currently serving as Regional Vice President – Atlantic Region, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Comfort Systems USA. Trent T. McKenna will continue in his position as President of the Company.

The leadership transition reflects Comfort Systems USA’s ongoing focus on operational excellence, expanding capabilities and maintaining strong execution across its nationwide network of businesses.

Brian Lane, Chief Executive Officer of Comfort Systems USA, praised Sasser’s leadership experience and industry knowledge, highlighting his ability to support the company’s next phase of development.

“I’m thrilled to congratulate Craig on his new role. Craig is an ideal fit to be COO, as he is a proven leader whose contributions and deep industry knowledge have been invaluable to Comfort Systems,” said Lane. “He will serve a pivotal role in positioning the Company for long-term growth and success.”

Sasser brings extensive experience in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services industry, along with a strong background in operational leadership and project management. He has served as a Regional Vice President at Comfort Systems USA since joining the company in September 2018.

During his tenure, Sasser has been responsible for leading both the North and Atlantic regions, overseeing operations and supporting business growth across multiple markets. His experience managing regional teams and complex contracting operations has contributed to Comfort Systems USA’s continued expansion.

Before joining Comfort Systems USA, Sasser spent 34 years with a major MEP services company, where he began his career in project management and later advanced into senior leadership roles. He ultimately led the company’s Mid-Atlantic region, gaining extensive experience in managing large-scale projects, customer relationships and operational teams.

Sasser earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Purdue University and completed the MCAA Advanced Leadership Institute at Babson College, further strengthening his leadership and business management expertise.

In addition to Sasser’s appointment, Comfort Systems USA announced that Briston Blair will transition into the newly expanded role of Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer, effective July 1, 2026.

Blair currently serves as Senior Vice President – Innovation & Strategy, a position he has held since January 2022. In his new role, he will continue leading strategic initiatives while focusing on innovation, growth opportunities and long-term value creation for the company and its stakeholders.

Lane recognized Blair’s contributions to the company’s strategic development and innovation efforts.

“Briston has been a driving force behind many of our strategy and innovation initiatives, and this promotion reflects the significant contributions he has made to our Company’s success,” Lane said. “I am confident that, as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer, he will continue to identify novel opportunities to create value for our stakeholders.”

Blair has played an important role in shaping Comfort Systems USA’s approach to innovation and business strategy. Prior to becoming Senior Vice President – Innovation & Strategy, he served as a Regional Vice President and later as Senior Growth Strategy & Corporate Development Advisor for the company.

His experience includes supporting strategic planning, identifying growth opportunities and helping guide initiatives aimed at strengthening Comfort Systems USA’s competitive position in the evolving building services market.

Blair holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University.

The appointments come as Comfort Systems USA continues to expand its presence as a leading provider of specialized contracting services. The company supports customers across commercial, industrial and institutional markets, delivering HVAC, electrical and related infrastructure solutions for a wide range of facilities.

As demand grows for energy-efficient systems, advanced building technologies and complex infrastructure solutions, strong operational leadership remains critical for companies in the building services sector. Comfort Systems USA’s latest leadership changes are intended to align executive responsibilities with the company’s strategic priorities and future opportunities.

With Sasser moving into the COO role and Blair leading strategy and innovation efforts, Comfort Systems USA is positioning its leadership team to continue driving operational performance, customer value and sustainable growth across its markets.
