CAVA Expands Midwest Presence with New Columbus Restaurant Opening
CAVA, the Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant brand known for its customizable bowls and pitas, has officially opened a new location in Columbus, Ohio, as part of its continued expansion across the Midwest. The new restaurant, located at 1370 Polaris Parkway, marks another important step in the company’s ambitious national growth strategy and further strengthens its presence in Ohio.
The newly opened CAVA Polaris Parkway restaurant spans approximately 3,660 square feet and has been designed to provide a modern and convenient dining experience for guests. The location features a bright and welcoming dining area, outdoor patio seating, streamlined digital order pickup and convenient car-friendly pickup options. Delivery services are also available, allowing guests to enjoy CAVA’s Mediterranean-inspired menu wherever they are.
The Columbus opening reflects CAVA’s continued investment in high-growth Midwest markets as the company works toward its long-term goal of operating at least 1,000 restaurants by 2032. The brand currently operates in 29 states and the District of Columbia and expects to open its 500th restaurant later this year.
With the new Polaris Parkway location, Columbus-area residents now have additional access to CAVA’s highly customizable Mediterranean menu. Guests can choose from chef-curated bowls and pitas or create personalized meals using a wide range of ingredients, proteins, toppings and sauces. According to the company, the menu offers more than 17 billion possible combinations, giving customers the flexibility to tailor meals to their preferences and dietary needs.
Popular menu offerings include CAVA’s signature pita chips and dips, grain bowls, greens-based salads, hearty protein selections and house-made beverages. The menu is designed to combine bold Mediterranean flavors with fresh ingredients and convenient fast-casual service.
The Columbus restaurant is also introducing guests to one of CAVA’s newest menu additions, Glazed Salmon. The dish features a salmon fillet marinated in a house-made pomegranate glaze and roasted until caramelized and flaky. The company said the new offering reflects its commitment to providing flavorful, nutritious menu items that meet growing consumer demand for protein-rich and health-conscious dining options.
In addition to its flavor profile, the Glazed Salmon menu item provides nutritional benefits including omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins such as B12 and D. CAVA has increasingly focused on expanding its menu with ingredients that balance taste, convenience and wellness as consumer interest in healthier fast-casual dining options continues to grow.
Jeff Gaul, Chief Development Officer of CAVA, said Columbus represents an ideal market for the company because of its strong sense of community and growing dining scene.
“Columbus is a city with a welcoming spirit and an energy that brings people together,” Gaul said. “That spirit, where people show up for one another and bond over a shared meal, is exactly what CAVA is all about. We’re excited to introduce our fresh, bold Mediterranean flavors to Columbus and create a welcoming space where guests can gather, recharge, and make CAVA part of their everyday routine. As we continue to grow in the region, we look forward to becoming a meaningful part of the community.”
To celebrate the grand opening, CAVA hosted a special Community Day event at the Polaris Parkway location. During the event, guests were invited to enjoy complimentary meals while making donations to support a local nonprofit organization. The company pledged to match donations up to $1,000 as part of its ongoing community engagement efforts.
The event supported IMPACT Community Action, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty and helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency through support services and community programs. The partnership aligns with CAVA’s broader mission of supporting local communities and addressing food insecurity in the markets where it operates.
Since launching its company-wide Community Day initiative in 2019, CAVA has raised more than $1 million through monetary and food donations for organizations focused on combating hunger and improving food access across the United States.
In addition to fundraising efforts, CAVA also donated fresh meals prepared during the restaurant’s employee training period to members of the local community. The company’s food donation initiative, which expanded nationally in 2023, aims to reduce food waste while increasing access to fresh meals for individuals and families in need.
The new Polaris Parkway restaurant continues CAVA’s recent momentum in Ohio. Earlier this year, the company opened its first Ohio restaurant in Cincinnati and later expanded into the Columbus suburb of Hilliard. The latest Columbus opening signals the company’s intention to continue growing throughout the state and across the Midwest region.
Industry analysts have noted increasing demand for Mediterranean-inspired dining concepts as consumers seek healthier, customizable meal options with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Fast-casual brands offering convenient ordering, digital pickup and delivery capabilities have also experienced strong growth as dining habits continue evolving.
CAVA’s expansion strategy reflects these broader market trends. The company has focused on entering suburban and urban growth markets where demand for fast, high-quality dining experiences remains strong. Ohio, with its growing metropolitan areas and expanding consumer base, has become an important part of the company’s national development plans.
Beyond customer growth, the Polaris Parkway location is also expected to contribute to the local economy through job creation. The restaurant will employ between 25 and 40 team members and will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
CAVA stated that it remains committed to providing meaningful career development opportunities for employees and fostering a workplace culture centered on hospitality, teamwork and personal growth. The company offers competitive wages and a comprehensive employee benefits package that includes paid time off, healthcare benefits, early wage access, complimentary CAVA meals, employee assistance programs and access to mental health support resources.
As the company continues expanding nationwide, CAVA appears focused not only on opening new restaurants but also on building long-term connections within the communities it enters. Through local partnerships, charitable initiatives and continued investment in employee development, the brand is positioning itself as both a growing restaurant chain and an active community participant.
With additional Columbus-area locations already planned for the coming months, CAVA’s latest opening reinforces its confidence in the Midwest market and highlights the company’s broader vision for sustained national growth. As demand for Mediterranean fast-casual dining continues rising, CAVA is steadily expanding its footprint while introducing more communities to its customizable and flavor-driven dining experience.
