Scott Wilk served as a California State Senator for the 21st District from 2016 to 2024. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, he represented the 38th District in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2016. Throughout his public service, Wilk prioritized policies that directly impacted Californians, focusing on housing affordability, economic growth, and fostering bipartisan collaboration to tackle pressing issues. His efforts have left a lasting impact on the state’s housing landscape, making him a valuable addition to BIASC’s leadership team.

“Senator Wilk served the State of California with great distinction,” said BIASC CEO Jeff Montejano. “His expertise, experience, and strong policy track record will be instrumental in advancing our organization’s goals of addressing the ongoing housing policy crisis in Southern California.”

BIASC, established in 1923, stands as one of the largest building trade associations in the United States. The organization represents a diverse coalition of home builders, developers, contractors, suppliers, and skilled laborers who contribute to shaping the region’s housing market. The LAV Chapter of BIASC focuses on advocating for pro-housing policies that aim to make housing more attainable, raising awareness about the critical role of housing providers, and fostering business opportunities within the industry.

Wilk expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, emphasizing his commitment to bridging the gap between public and private sectors to create practical housing solutions. “I look forward to representing the building leaders with the public and private sectors to help bring common-sense housing solutions for Southern California,” said Wilk. “BIASC is a highly reputable organization that continues to lead on housing, and I am happy to be a part of this team.”

As Senior Executive Vice President of the LAV Chapter, Wilk will spearhead efforts to address the region’s pressing housing needs, leveraging his extensive policy experience to advocate for sustainable growth and housing attainability. His leadership is expected to enhance BIASC’s ability to navigate complex housing challenges while supporting its members in achieving their goals.
