Riverview Landscapes Expands with Acquisition of Fresh Cut Lawn Care

Riverview Landscapes, a growing provider of commercial and residential landscaping services, has acquired Fresh Cut Lawn Care, Inc, a well-established landscaping and snow management company headquartered in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The transaction expands Riverview’s presence in Southern New Jersey and establishes its new Atlantic County branch, while also marking an important milestone as the company’s 25th acquisition since its founding in 2022.

The acquisition strengthens Riverview’s regional operations and provides the company with an established customer base, experienced employees and a strong local reputation built over more than four decades. Fresh Cut provides a broad range of landscaping and seasonal property services, with a particular focus on commercial customers throughout Southern New Jersey.

Founded in 1983 by brothers John and Shawn Ferrie, Fresh Cut has developed a longstanding reputation for quality service and dependable property maintenance. Over the course of more than 40 years, the company has built relationships with customers across the region by providing comprehensive landscaping solutions designed to maintain and enhance commercial and residential properties throughout the year.

Fresh Cut’s services include landscape maintenance, landscape enhancements, installation work, snow management and holiday lighting. Its ability to provide both year-round landscaping and seasonal services has allowed the company to serve customers with a comprehensive approach to exterior property care.

The company’s predominantly commercial customer base represents an important addition to Riverview’s existing operations. By combining Fresh Cut’s established relationships in Atlantic County with Riverview’s broader resources and regional infrastructure, the acquisition is expected to create additional opportunities for growth while maintaining continuity for customers.

“Reaching our 25th acquisition is an exciting milestone for Riverview, and Fresh Cut is an outstanding addition to our organization,” said Michael Waterman, CEO of Riverview Landscapes. “The company has built an impressive reputation over more than four decades, with a strong commercial customer base and deep roots in Atlantic County. This acquisition expands our presence in Southern New Jersey and provides a strong platform for future growth in the region.”

The Egg Harbor Township facility will become Riverview’s dedicated Atlantic County branch. Its location is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to serve existing customers across Southern New Jersey while providing a foundation for expanding its landscaping and snow management services to additional commercial and residential properties.

The new branch will also enable Riverview to pursue organic growth opportunities in the region. With local operations already established, the company can build on Fresh Cut’s market presence while leveraging its broader capabilities and resources.

For Fresh Cut’s founders, the transaction represents the next stage following more than four decades in the landscaping industry. John and Shawn Ferrie will retire from the business following the acquisition, having built the company from its founding in 1983 into an established regional landscaping provider.

“After more than 40 years in the landscaping industry, Shawn and I felt it was important to find a partner who would take care of our customers and employees the same way we always have,” said John Ferrie, Co-Founder of Fresh Cut. “Riverview shares our commitment to quality service and long-term relationships, and we are confident the company is well-positioned for continued success under their leadership.”

A key element of the transition will be the continued involvement of Fresh Cut’s experienced team. The new Atlantic County branch will be led by Brian Cramer, who joined Fresh Cut in 1999 at the age of 18. During his long tenure with the company, Cramer has played an important role in its development and growth and brings extensive knowledge of its customers, operations and local market.

His leadership is expected to provide continuity as Fresh Cut becomes part of the Riverview organization. Maintaining experienced local leadership can also help ensure that existing customers continue to receive familiar service while gaining access to the resources and capabilities of a larger landscaping platform.

The acquisition is the latest step in Riverview Landscapes’ broader expansion strategy. Since its founding in 2022, the company has completed 25 acquisitions, establishing a growing network of landscaping and property service operations across several markets.

In addition to its Southern New Jersey presence, Riverview operates throughout New York, Northern New Jersey and New England. The company’s expanding geographic footprint allows it to serve a diverse range of commercial and residential customers while building a broader regional platform for landscaping, maintenance and seasonal services.

The Fresh Cut acquisition further strengthens Riverview’s position in Southern New Jersey, particularly in Atlantic County, where demand for reliable landscape maintenance, snow management and property enhancement services supports opportunities for continued growth.

The transaction also demonstrates the importance of established local landscaping businesses within a consolidating industry. Companies such as Fresh Cut bring decades of customer relationships, local market expertise and experienced teams, while larger organizations can provide additional operational resources and opportunities for expansion.

For Riverview, the acquisition combines those advantages while preserving Fresh Cut’s local presence and service-focused culture. With Brian Cramer leading the new Atlantic County branch and the Ferrie brothers retiring after more than 40 years in the industry, the transition creates a new chapter for the business.

As Riverview continues to expand across the Northeast, the Fresh Cut acquisition adds another established operation to its growing portfolio and provides a platform for further development in Southern New Jersey. The company’s 25th acquisition underscores its rapid growth since 2022 and reinforces its strategy of expanding through established landscaping businesses with strong customer relationships and local reputations.
