Prime Minister of Ivory Coast announces opening of CSCEC-built fourth bridge project in Abidjan

Recently, Robert Beugre Mambe, Prime Minister of Ivory Coast, announced the official opening of the fourth bridge project in Abidjan, a crucial transportation infrastructure project in Ivory Coast. CSCEC-built fourth bridge project in Abidjan significantly reduces the travel time across the Banco Bay from over an hour to just 10 minutes.

Prime Minister Mambe stated that the opening of the project would effectively alleviate traffic congestion between the two banks, ease the traffic congestion in the areas around the northern highway, and improve people’s travel efficiency during the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. This project aims to boost Ivory Coast’s economic development and enhance the quality of life for local residents.

The project connects Yopougon to Adjame and Plateau in Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast, covering a total length of approximately 7 km, including about 4.1 km of municipal roads and seven bridges. The main bridge over the Ebrié Lagoon spans 792 meters, with a width of 33.9 meters, featuring eight lanes in both directions, making it the widest bridge in Abidjan to date.
