The NRP Group, a vertically integrated developer, builder, and manager of multifamily housing, has announced the appointment of Brett Gelsomino as Senior Vice President of Development. With nearly 20 years of experience in housing development and investment in Florida, Gelsomino will oversee the firm’s market-rate development efforts across the state, from site selection to project completion. He will report to Mike Zelenkofske, Executive Vice President of Development at The NRP Group.

Gelsomino’s expertise in market-rate and luxury housing will be instrumental in The NRP Group’s expansion in Florida. His responsibilities will include site selection, entitlements, and development strategy, ensuring the company continues to deliver high-quality communities in high-growth markets. His deep understanding of market trends and renters’ evolving expectations will help create distinctive, sought-after communities that set a new industry benchmark.
Prior to joining The NRP Group, Gelsomino spent 14 years at ZOM Development, where he launched and led the company’s senior living division as Senior Vice President. He oversaw the origination, capitalization, and construction of nearly $400 million in luxury rental senior living communities. Since 2007, he has developed over 2,500 multifamily and senior living units throughout Florida, with a total cost value exceeding $1 billion. In 2022, he founded Gelsomino Holding, a development and investment firm focused on ground-up multifamily projects in Florida, successfully entitling and closing on nearly 900 units to date. As a licensed real estate broker and certified general contractor, Gelsomino brings a well-rounded skill set to his new role.

Gelsomino is the incoming Chairman and an adjunct professor at the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Leadership Institute. He is also an Executive Board Member of the Properties Committee at the Boy Scouts of America. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction and a Master’s of Science in Real Estate from the University of Florida.
Over the past several years, The NRP Group has developed a robust portfolio of market-rate and affordable housing in Florida, with 6,357 developed units in key markets including Fort Myers, Venice, St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Orlando.
