A cricket club based in Matlock has secured a £1,000 funding boost, thanks to our Nottingham team
Matlock and Cromford Cricket Club received a £1,000 funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. The club recently underwent a merger, dealing with maintaining two groups, two sets of equipment and the distance between the two clubs which are three miles away.
The merger was a success, and with the club now looking to the future, they seek to enhance their coaching capabilities. An enthusiastic team always has a need for the upgrading of coaching techniques and our funding will help to enable the club to do this.
Steve Haslam at Matlock and Cromford Cricket Club said: “We’re delighted with this kind donation from Persimmon Homes. Our recent merger has been a success, but it’s not been without its challenges at times either – the funding will allow us to give the best coaching possible to our junior players as we look to future games in 2024 and beyond.”
Carl Oxley, Land Director at Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local sports groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s an honour to be able to offer this support to Matlock and Cromford Cricket Club, helping to train the cricket players of the future.”
