Invesis is delighted to announce that our Ground Lease Model 2 social housing project in Australia has won the Social Infrastructure Project of the Year award at the 2024 Partnerships Awards. The Partnerships Awards is the public–private partnership (PPP) industry’s biggest and most prestigious celebration of excellence. The Awards turn the spotlight on those who turn partnerships into unparalleled success stories.
Ground Lease Model phase 2 (‘GLM2’) stands as a groundbreaking initiative, representing the largest investment in social and affordable housing ever undertaken by an Australian government. Client ‘Homes Victoria’ awarded the project to the Building Communities consortium in 2023 comprising – Invesis, Tetris Capital, abrdn, Icon, Community Housing (Vic) Ltd., Women’s Property Initiatives and Aboriginal Community Housing (Vic) Ltd.
Comprising 650 social housing homes, 180 affordable homes, and 55 Specialist Disability Accommodation units, GLM2 embodies a comprehensive solution catering to diverse housing needs. Notably, the consortium’s inclusivity is underscored by the participation of two specialised Community Housing Providers. Women’s Property Initiatives will manage and maintain 200 homes, offering vital support to over 290 vulnerable women and children, while Aboriginal Community Housing Limited oversees 10% of social homes, prioritising the unique needs and cultural heritage of Aboriginal Victorians.
In a double triumph, Liselotte Koppenol, Business Development Lead Australia at Invesis, received a high commendation in the Future Leader of the Year category at the Partnership Awards. Liselotte’s exceptional leadership has been instrumental in Invesis’s breakthrough in Australia, notably spearheading the successful investment in affordable housing through Ground Lease Model 2.
Congratulations to Liselotte Koppenol and everyone involved in the project.
