Skanska Invests CZK 1.6 Billion in Innovative Residential Project in Prague’s Radlice District
Skanska is set to invest approximately CZK 1.6 billion (around SEK 700 million) in a new single-phase residential development in the Radlice district of Prague, Czech Republic. The construction contract, valued at CZK 1.0 billion (about SEK 460 million), will be recorded in Skanska’s European order bookings for the second quarter of 2025.
Named D.O.K. Radlice, the project will include 177 low-energy apartments across three residential buildings. Notably, one of the buildings will become the largest residential structure made of wood in the Czech Republic. Located near natural monuments and green spaces, the development will offer a tranquil courtyard and a playground, blending urban living with nature.
The design emphasizes low-impact living through a focus on energy efficiency, blue-green infrastructure, and reduced carbon emissions. A preliminary analysis shows that the use of wood in one building could replace about half the required volume of concrete and cut CO₂ emissions by up to one-third compared to traditional construction methods. The development also aims for a high rating under the international BREEAM sustainability certification.
Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of June 2025, with completion expected in 2027.
