Skanska, in a joint venture with ECCO III Enterprises, Inc., has signed a contract with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) for the Hillview Reservoir Chemical Addition Facilities Construction project in Yonkers, NY. The contract, valued at USD 848M, stems from the Hillview Reservoir Consent Decree and Judgment. Skanska’s 75% share, worth USD 630M (approx. SEK 6.6 billion), will be recorded in its US order bookings for Q3 2024.
The project involves upgrades to the North Entrance and the construction of two new Chemical Addition Facilities. Additional work includes installing two new electrical service feeds, a SCADA system, and interim structures for water quality monitoring and pumps. Water supply to the surrounding community will be maintained throughout the project.
The project aims for LEED v4.1 certification, focusing on energy efficiency, air quality, and resource conservation. Construction began in August 2024 and is expected to finish by April 2030.
