Specializing in the manufacture of ball bearings, the Swedish group SKF has undertaken to decarbonize its French site in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire (37). Financially supported by the France 2030 plan, it called on Eiffage Énergie Systèmes to install 12,000 m² of photovoltaic shade structures. Our experts also equipped 33 parking spaces with charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (or IRVE terminals).
Established in Indre-et-Loire since 1938, the SKF group has embarked on the path to decarbonization by investing massively in the conversion of its production tools. Anticipating the planned end of sales of thermal vehicles, the company is gradually abandoning the machining of tensioners and other clutch bearings, in favor of ball bearings, components widely used in the manufacture of electric vehicles. In order to support this change, the winner of the France 2030 plan entrusted Eiffage Énergie Systèmes with the installation of photovoltaic shade structures in a car park with more than 1,000 parking spaces reserved for Group employees. “In service since December 2022, the 12,000 m² of photovoltaic shade structures have an overall power of 2.5 MWp. In 2023, they produced 2.97 GWh of electricity for self-consumption by the factory. This energy represents 6% of its annual consumption and it is, to date, one of the largest French parks of photovoltaic solar panels dedicated to self-consumption,” indicates Matthieu Sallembien, business manager. On 33 of its parking spaces, SKF has also undertaken the deployment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (IRVE), made compulsory by the LOM law . The turnkey installation that our experts carried out includes: civil engineering, manufacturing of metal supports, electrical work (CFO/CFA), wiring of electrical cabinets, as well as installation of Shell Recharge terminals and their commissioning. “So that our client’s project can benefit from subsidies, we have also taken responsibility for formulating a request for assistance from Avere-France which, in conjunction with Ademe, is piloting the Advenir financing program,” specifies Jean Klein, Infrastructure activity director, IRVE referent. Working from the design to the commissioning of IRVE terminals, our specialists were able to put all their expertise at the customer’s service. Mobility Orientation Law (LOM) intends to accelerate the deployment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (IRVE) on the public network (400,000 charging points by
2030 ), as on private parking. From January 1
, 2025, companies with parking lots with more than 20 spaces will be required to equip 5% of them with charging stations. The law also requires companies owning a fleet of more than 100 vehicles to renew it year after year, until it is made up of 50% low-emission vehicles by 2030.
