Military Families Experience the Future of Housing Through Advanced Wellness Technologies
Hundreds of military families recently had the opportunity to explore the future of residential living as Corvias introduced residents at Fort Riley, Fort Meade and Fort Bragg to its innovative Wellness at Home program. The initiative showcases a new approach to military housing by integrating advanced indoor wellness technologies designed to improve air quality, water quality, comfort and overall resident well-being.
The Wellness at Home program features advanced air purification systems, water filtration solutions, excess humidity controls and other smart wellness technologies designed to create healthier indoor environments. Built to improve living conditions at scale, the program has already been implemented in nearly 3,000 homes across the three military installations, with more than 1,000 additional residences expected to receive upgrades this year.
The events provided service members, spouses and children with a firsthand look at how these improvements work and the positive impact they can have on daily life. Through interactive demonstrations and educational sessions, residents learned about the science behind the technologies, the installation process and how these solutions support healthier homes without requiring major construction or forcing families to relocate during upgrades.
Creating Healthier Homes for Military Communities
For many residents, the benefits of the program were immediately noticeable. Families shared their experiences and highlighted how the improvements have positively influenced their everyday routines.
One Fort Bragg resident explained the impact of the upgrades, stating, “I automatically noticed a difference in how we lived and every category of improvement made a difference.” The combination of improved air quality, cleaner water and better humidity management helped create a more comfortable and supportive home environment.
A Soldier stationed at Fort Meade also shared how the enhancements benefited their family, saying, “The wellness upgrades have been an overall improvement for my family, especially [because I] have special needs children and a newborn on the way.”
These responses reflect Corvias’ broader commitment to improving the quality of life for military families while supporting the readiness and resilience of defense communities.
“Every military family deserves a home that supports their health and well-being as much as it supports the mission,” said Heather Fuller, Regional Vice President at Corvias. “These sessions gave residents the opportunity to see the investments we are making in their homes, while providing us with the important opportunity to continue listening to the needs of our families to drive changes that positively impact their daily lives.”
Measuring the Impact of Wellness at Home
Corvias developed the Wellness at Home program in partnership with Vitacorps, a company specializing in integrated indoor wellness solutions. Since the program launched in 2024, approximately seven million square feet of residential space has been enhanced with air and water purification technologies.
Resident feedback and performance measurements demonstrate the program’s impact. Survey results from the on-base Wellness at Home program show strong improvements in resident satisfaction, including:
- 93% resident satisfaction with water quality
- 82% resident satisfaction with on-post housing
- 72% reduction in airborne particulate matter (PM2.5)
Beyond resident feedback, hundreds of homes have achieved WELL Residence Certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). More than 800 homes across the three installations have earned certification, while over 2,000 additional certifications are currently in progress.
The WELL Residence Certification is an internationally recognized standard that evaluates residential environments based on factors that influence human health and comfort. Homes must meet strict third-party requirements related to indoor air, water, lighting, comfort and other wellness-focused criteria.
“The randomized in-home performance testing is an integral part of achieving certification and validates the efficacy of the Vitacorps solution and its positive impact on living environments,” said Anna Obraztsova, Head of WELL Consulting. “When families are supported at home, it promotes readiness and reinforces the promises made to those who serve.”
Building the Installation of the Future
Vitacorps follows a detailed seven-step process that includes evaluating indoor conditions, identifying appropriate solutions, implementing improvements and testing results after installation. The approach is based on scientific performance benchmarks and designed to ensure that upgraded homes deliver measurable improvements.
Post-implementation testing methods were developed through the Well Living Lab, a collaboration between Mayo Clinic and Delos focused on understanding how indoor environments influence human health and well-being.
As part of its long-term vision, Corvias plans to expand Wellness at Home across its broader military housing portfolio. The company aims to bring these solutions to more than 72,000 residents in the future, extending access to healthier and more advanced living environments across military communities.
The initiative represents one part of Corvias’ ongoing modernization efforts to create the “Installation of the Future” — a vision where military communities become stronger platforms for resilience, innovation and comprehensive support for service members and their families.
By combining technology, science and resident-focused improvements, Corvias is helping redefine what military housing can be, creating homes designed not only for living, but for supporting the health, comfort and readiness of those who serve.
