ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau Acquires BAUER Spezialtiefbau Austria to Strengthen Market Position
The STRABAG subsidiary ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau Ges.m.b.H. is joining forces with BAUER Spezialtiefbau Ges.m.b.H., Austria, through a strategic acquisition aimed at expanding its capabilities in specialist foundation engineering. This move enhances ZÜBLIN’s service offering and reinforces its position in the Austrian market.
Expanding Expertise and Customer Solutions
“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our growth strategy,” said Reinhard Kerschner, Member of the ZÜBLIN Management Board. “By merging with BAUER Spezialtiefbau Austria, we’re enhancing our pile construction expertise and are excited to welcome our new colleagues to the team.”
ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau has been recognized for its work on major infrastructure projects in Austria, specializing in technologies such as diaphragm walls, grouting, and groundwater management. BAUER Spezialtiefbau Austria, on the other hand, has built a strong reputation in pile foundation solutions. Combining these complementary strengths allows ZÜBLIN to offer a broader and more flexible range of services—from smaller regional jobs to complex large-scale construction sites.
Stronger Presence in Austria
The integration, which will be completed under the ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau brand by 2026, is expected to significantly increase ZÜBLIN’s footprint across Austria and improve responsiveness to local project demands.
Peter Hingott, Executive Board Member of BAUER AG, commented on the transition: “For strategic reasons, we chose to exit the specialist foundation engineering sector in Austria. The transaction has officially closed, though financial details remain confidential in accordance with mutual agreement.
