YIT and A-Kruunu Partner to Build Affordable Rental Apartments in Tampere
YIT and A-Kruunu have signed an agreement to construct subsidized rental apartments in the Niemenranta district of Tampere. The project, valued at approximately EUR 9 million, will be included in YIT’s order book for the second quarter of 2025. Earthworks are scheduled to begin in June 2025, with project completion expected by August 2026.
The development, named As Oy Tampere Polaris, will offer around 3,000 square meters of floor space. Designed to meet energy class A standards, the building will also feature solar panels to enhance energy efficiency. A-Kruunu, a state-owned company focused on affordable housing, will receive 44 new apartments ranging from studios to family-sized homes as part of the project.
These units are part of YIT’s broader Niemenranta regional initiative. The area is known for its modern urban planning and strong public transport links, including a convenient rail connection to Tampere city centre—an attractive feature for prospective residents.
