Extensive Experience in Real Estate and Land Acquisition
Tysdal brings a wealth of experience in land acquisition, financial analysis, and investment, having worked with some of the industry’s most respected companies. Most recently, he was part of Houston-based Forestar Development Group, where he facilitated the acquisition of more than 5,000 paper lots and managed commercial and school site sales. His deep understanding of land transactions and community planning contributed significantly to Forestar’s success in securing prime real estate opportunities.

Before joining Forestar, Tysdal served as an analyst at Lennar Homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. He quickly advanced to the role of acquisition manager for Fort Worth, where he oversaw the purchase and management of approximately 7,000 paper lots. His responsibilities included managing single-family lot transactions, build-for-rent deals, land banking, HOA leadership, and joint ventures. This experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the residential development sector and a strategic approach to land acquisition that maximizes long-term value.
Tysdal’s career began at Investment Realty Co. in San Antonio, where he played a key role in an integrated vertical construction loan finance program. This initiative helped fund residential home construction projects across Texas, further strengthening his knowledge of the financial aspects of land development. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master of Real Estate degree from the same institution.
