Saundersfoot Rotary Club Receives £2,000 Donation from Persimmon Homes West Wales to Support Disabled Sports
The Saundersfoot Rotary Club has been awarded a £2,000 donation from Persimmon Homes West Wales as part of the company’s Community Champions initiative. The funds will support the Rotary’s work with the Tenderfoot Welsh Disabled Sports Club, which helps train and develop disabled athletes in various sports. The program culminates each year with teams competing in the Welsh Disability Team Games.
This donation will aid the Rotary’s annual fundraising efforts, helping to finance sports activities and purchase necessary equipment for the athletes.
Persimmon Homes West Wales’ Community Champions initiative donates £24,000 annually to local organizations and charitable causes across the region. In July, Persimmon’s development of a new sustainable community of 72 homes in Saundersfoot was backed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The zero-carbon-ready development includes a mix of detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses, as well as apartments, all designed to address local housing needs.
Ray Wise of the Saundersfoot Rotary Club expressed gratitude for the donation, stating, “This generous contribution will enhance Tenderfoot’s activities and allow more people with disabilities to participate in sports. Persimmon’s support will make a meaningful difference in fostering community and empowerment for individuals with disabilities across West Wales.”
Sharon Bouhali, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, added, “Our Community Champions scheme is about giving back to the communities where we operate. We are proud to support the Saundersfoot Rotary Club in their heartwarming work to improve the lives of people with disabilities.”
