High voltage lines and other electricity assets in PPP, as part of one of the first Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in the State of New South Wales

The Acerez consortium, made up of VINCI, through its subsidiary Cobra IS, Acciona and local energy distributor Endeavor Energy, was awarded a commitment deed by the New South Wales government. contract) for a major public-private partnership (PPP) lasting 35 years.
Its financial close is planned for the second half of 2024, after obtaining regulatory authorizations.
This PPP includes the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of several 330 kV and 500 kV transmission lines, substations and their connection to renewable energy production parks (capacity of 4.5 GW).
The design phase is planned for the beginning of 2024, for gradual provision of the electricity network from the third quarter of 2027.
This project is part of the broader framework of one of the first Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) chosen by the New South Wales Government, the ambition of which is to encourage investment in production and renewable energy storage.
This 4.5 GW REZ will power more than 2.7 million people in the Orana region, around the cities of Dubbo and Dunedoo. With a total amount of 10 billion Australian dollars (or 6.15 billion euros) – entirely financed by private investors by 2030 – it will create around 5,000 jobs in the construction sector.
Cobra IS, which has already won several contracts of the same type, notably in Brazil, is deploying its expertise in the promising Australian market.
