VINCI Secures Two Major Road Contracts in Australia Construction of key transport infrastructure in Sydney and Melbourne, Emphasis on minimizing environmental impact, Total contract value exceeding 200 million euros

VINCI Construction’s Australian subsidiary, Seymour Whyte, has been awarded two significant contracts worth nearly 340 million Australian dollars (approximately 209 million euros):

  • In Sydney, Seymour Whyte will work on the expansion of a 3.8 km stretch of Mamre Road for Transport for New South Wales. This project will involve doubling the existing two-lane road, adding a central reservation to accommodate potential future lanes, and constructing a noise barrier. Environmental measures include the use of around 40% recycled asphalt and on-site recycling of excavated materials. The project is expected to be completed by 2028.
  • In Melbourne, Seymour Whyte will extend and upgrade Clyde Road under a contract with Major Road Projects Victoria. This work includes adding a lane in each direction, widening the Clyde Road bridge, and improving intersections. The project, scheduled for completion in 2027, will feature a greenhouse gas reduction analysis and incorporate solar or hybrid energy-powered facilities. Additionally, the Recycled First plan will focus on recycling materials used in the project.

Seymour Whyte is already engaged in several major Australian road projects, including access construction for the future Western Sydney International Airport, the upgrade of Mulgoa Road in Sydney, and the M1 Pacific Motorway extension between Sydney and Brisbane.
