UL Solutions Inc. Appoints New Chief Legal Officer
UL Solutions Inc., a global leader in applied safety science, has announced the appointment of Scott D’Angelo as executive vice president and chief legal officer, effective April 21, 2025. D’Angelo’s addition to the company’s executive leadership team marks a strategic step in further strengthening its legal and compliance functions as it continues to grow as a publicly traded entity. He will report directly to Jennifer Scanlon, President and CEO of UL Solutions.

D’Angelo fills a previously vacant role within the company, bringing with him extensive experience in corporate legal affairs, brand integrity, ethics, and compliance. In his new capacity, he will oversee UL Solutions’ legal functions, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management while also guiding corporate governance. His responsibilities extend to maintaining the company’s brand integrity and ensuring ethical business practices, all of which are essential components of UL Solutions’ global mission to advance safety science.

A Wealth of Experience in Legal Leadership
D’Angelo joins UL Solutions from CTS Corp., a publicly held global designer and manufacturer of sensors, actuators, and electronic components, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois. At CTS, he served as vice president, chief legal and administrative officer, and corporate secretary, where he was responsible for managing the company’s legal, compliance, and administrative functions. His experience in corporate governance and legal compliance at a publicly traded company makes him well-suited for his new role at UL Solutions.
Prior to his tenure at CTS, D’Angelo worked at Baker McKenzie, one of the world’s leading international law firms, where he served as legal counsel. His work at the firm provided him with valuable exposure to complex corporate legal matters, international regulatory compliance, and business risk management.
D’Angelo also held key leadership roles at Fortune Brands Innovations, where he served as vice president, deputy general counsel, and chief compliance officer. There, he led compliance initiatives, managed corporate risk, and played a critical role in ensuring regulatory adherence across multiple business units.
Additionally, he spent 12 years at McDonald’s Corporation in various senior legal roles, including divisional general counsel. During his time with the fast-food giant, he was responsible for overseeing legal strategies and regulatory compliance across diverse global markets. His expertise in legal risk mitigation, corporate governance, and business ethics has prepared him to take on the chief legal officer role at UL Solutions.
