Turner Construction Named Lead Builder for Republic FC’s New Downtown Sacramento Stadium
Turner Construction Company has been selected as the lead builder for Republic FC’s new 12,000-seat stadium in downtown Sacramento. More than just a sports venue, the stadium is envisioned as a cultural and economic catalyst for the city, enhancing its civic identity and future growth.
With a legacy of delivering some of the most iconic sports facilities in the country, Turner brings both world-class expertise and deep Northern California roots to the project. The company’s involvement signals a commitment to creating a space that truly reflects the values and aspirations of the Sacramento community—a place for sports, the arts, and civic life to come together.
“This is an incredible moment to reflect on the lasting impact this project will have on our city,” said Drake Costa, Vice President & General Manager of Turner Construction Company. “Aligned in values with Wilton Rancheria and Republic FC, we are proud to help bring a stadium to life that’s grounded in community, rooted in local history, and built for Sacramento’s future.”
Turner’s extensive resume includes celebrated projects such as the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. Across all of its projects, Turner emphasizes sustainable building practices, fan-centered design, and construction excellence.
The company’s role goes beyond construction. In partnership with Republic FC, Turner is helping launch programs focused on workforce development, supporting local businesses, and driving long-term economic benefits. The stadium project is expected to create over 1,200 construction jobs and inject more than $240 million into the local economy.
Scheduled to break ground in late summer 2025, the stadium is set to open in 2027. It will add nearly 40 large-scale events annually to Sacramento’s entertainment calendar, reinforcing the city’s status as a vibrant cultural hub.
Turner is honored to help build a stadium that captures the spirit and ambition of Sacramento, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
