Trinity Alliance Named Construction Manager for Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Expansion

Industry-leading partnership featuring AECOM Hunt, Turner Construction Company, and seasoned project collaborators

The City of Dallas has appointed Trinity Alliance, a joint venture led by AECOM Hunt and Turner Construction Company, as the Construction Manager for Component 1 of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Master Plan. In the role of Construction Manager at Risk, Trinity Alliance will manage all preconstruction, construction, and demolition activities associated with the expansion of the convention center.

Trinity Alliance is made up of equity joint venture partners and associate partners deeply rooted in the Dallas community, all playing vital roles in ensuring the project’s success. Equity partners include BOWA Construction, CORE CMCI, EJ Smith Construction, GCC Enterprises, Pienado Construction, and Source Building. Additional teaming partners are Acari Management Group, BYRNE Construction Services, Copeland Contracting Company, Inc., LeVis Consulting Group, Mahuya Industries, Othon, Inc., RM Chin & Associates, and STL Engineers.

This Master Plan project marks a historic investment in downtown Dallas’s future. Under Trinity Alliance’s leadership, Component 1 will transform the convention center while stimulating local economic growth, creating new jobs, and opening opportunities for businesses and workers across the region.

The team brings significant experience, having completed over 70 convention projects nationwide—including facilities in Fort Worth and San Antonio—amounting to $15 billion in convention center projects and generating more than 150,000 jobs. Their portfolio also includes high-profile entertainment venues like SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome.

Collaboration and integrity remain core to Trinity Alliance’s approach. In the last 18 months, the team has dedicated over 1,000 volunteer service hours to support the North Texas community.

AECOM Hunt, based in Dallas since 1979, has been a key player in delivering major infrastructure projects across the Metroplex. “We are proud to call Dallas home and to contribute to its continued growth,” said Corissa Smith, Co-Principal of AECOM Hunt. “We share the excitement around this project and are honored to be part of its realization.”

Celebrating its 100th year in Texas, Turner Construction Company has helped shape the Dallas-Fort Worth skyline with numerous landmark civic and commercial projects. “Dallas is a city with vision, and this project represents an important step in its future,” said Dewey Newton, Co-Principal at Turner Construction Company. “From job creation to tourism and long-term opportunities, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center will be a major driver of growth. We’re eager to bring our national expertise to this local effort.”

Each partner in Trinity Alliance contributes specialized expertise, leadership, and a shared commitment to excellence.

“Participating in this project means more than construction—it’s about shaping Dallas’s future for generations,” said Eugene Walker, President and CEO of EJ Smith Construction. “We’re proud to lead a project that fosters opportunity, excellence, and a collective investment in the city.”

“This project exemplifies the power of the right team coming together,” added Julie Gutierrez, President of CORE CMCI. “We’re building more than a facility—we’re creating jobs, building career pathways, and delivering a project that embodies the best of Dallas.”
