Trex Marks 30 Years with Performance-Focused IBS 2026 Exhibit

Trex Celebrates 30 Years of Innovation at IBS 2026

In 1996, four executives from Mobil’s Composite Products Division acquired the rights to a revolutionary wood-alternative decking material, founding a company that would transform the decking industry. Three decades later, Trex Company [NYSE: TREX] has become the world’s leading brand of composite decking and railing, driving innovation and shaping the future of outdoor living. At the 2026 International Builders Show (IBS), Trex will showcase a dynamic new exhibit designed to highlight performance, beauty, and sustainability, signaling the next chapter for the company and the category it pioneered.

“Thirty years ago, our founders challenged the status quo and aimed to build something better,” said Adam Zambanini, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Trex. “That same mindset continues to drive our work today. We’re excited to return to IBS with a bold and performance-focused showcase that demonstrates how our products continue to raise the industry standard.”

A Performance-Driven Exhibit

Trex’s new 50’ x 60’ IBS exhibit is designed to do more than display products; it offers an immersive, high-energy environment where attendees can experience the science, innovation, and service behind Trex’s outdoor living solutions. The layout is intentionally fluid, guiding visitors from inspiration to education while reflecting the brand’s legacy of innovation and disruption.

The booth combines striking architecture with an approachable feel. Purpose-built environments feature dedicated product stations that highlight Trex’s comprehensive portfolio, including composite decking, railing systems, fasteners, cladding, fencing, and deck drainage. Visitors can engage with physical samples and digital content, exploring how Trex products perform in real-world applications.

A dedicated marine demonstration area reinforces Trex’s leadership in waterfront solutions, showcasing submersible decking and marine-capable performance. Here, attendees can see firsthand how Trex withstands some of the toughest outdoor conditions.

The Performance Lab

Central to the exhibit is the Performance Lab, a hands-on experience where Trex’s proprietary technology and engineering are brought to life. Through interactive displays and digital storytelling, visitors can explore innovations such as:

  • SunComfortable™ heat-mitigating technology – designed to keep deck surfaces cooler underfoot.
  • Class A-rated and WUI-compliant fire-resistant boards – meeting stringent safety standards.
  • Marine-capable durability – engineered for long-lasting performance in harsh environments.

The Performance Lab allows attendees to see, touch, and understand the science behind Trex’s decking, railing, and accessories, emphasizing both performance and sustainability.

Trex Advantage Room

Complementing the Performance Lab, the Trex Advantage Room offers a semi-private space for dealers, distributors, and builders to explore the insights, support, and innovations Trex provides to help partners grow their business. This area reinforces Trex’s commitment to its professional network and ensures attendees gain a deeper understanding of the brand’s value proposition.

“We wanted a booth that immediately communicates what Trex stands for,” said Jodi Lee, Senior Vice President of Marketing. “This exhibit reflects how Trex shows up for the industry today – confident, performance-driven, and focused on delivering real value. Every element highlights how our products perform in real-world conditions and why Trex continues to lead the industry after 30 years.”

Showcasing Select® Decking in the New Product Zone

Beyond the main exhibit, Trex’s award-winning Select® decking will be featured in the IBS New Product Zone. The Select line represents one of the industry’s most advanced mid-priced composite decking options, incorporating SunComfortable™ technology for cooler surfaces underfoot. The newest additions maintain durability and value while enhancing performance, giving attendees a firsthand look at innovations that elevate the outdoor living experience.

Note: Trex SunComfortable™ decking reduces surface heat compared to original boards, though all decking can become hot under direct sun, particularly in darker colors. Care should be taken with prolonged skin contact, especially for children and sensitive users.

Special Experiences at the Trex Booth

IBS 2026 attendees will enjoy a series of events and activities at the Trex booth celebrating the brand’s 30-year milestone. Highlights include:

  • 30th Anniversary Toast: On the first day, Zambanini and CEO Bryan Fairbanks will host a reception to commemorate Trex’s 30th anniversary.
  • Meet-and-Greet with Darren Keefe: On February 18, the Instagram influencer and “Dancing Carpenter” will engage with visitors, sharing his experiences using Trex products from noon to 2 PM.

These experiences reinforce Trex’s connection with customers, partners, and the wider industry, creating memorable touchpoints while celebrating the company’s legacy.

Continuing the Legacy of Innovation

“Launching our 30th anniversary at IBS is just the beginning of a pivotal year for Trex,” added Lee. “Throughout 2026, you’ll see Trex appearing in new and unexpected ways, meeting homeowners where they are and inspiring demand. Every initiative is designed to drive awareness and preference for our products and generate more business for our channel partners.”

Trex’s focus remains on delivering products and experiences that combine performance, beauty, and sustainability, ensuring it stays at the forefront of the outdoor living industry. With a bold exhibit, immersive experiences, and innovative product offerings, Trex is set to lead the next era of outdoor living.
