Terceo Completes Electrical Work at Bougainville Park House for Euroméditerranée

The Bougainville Park House, opened in 2024, is a nature retreat at the entrance to Bougainville Park, nestled within a newly “renatured” four-hectare space. Built on a former industrial site, the project preserved only a metal canopy from the original structure. This 287 m² bioclimatic building was equipped with all-new electrical systems installed by our Terceo experts. The development was overseen by Euroméditerranée.

Nestled in Marseille’s 3rd arrondissement, at the edge of the newly revitalized Bougainville Park, the Bougainville Park House stands as a unique community hub dedicated to environmental awareness. Built on a 700 m² plot once occupied by industry, this nature relay welcomes the public and features an educational garden where primary school children can engage with nature firsthand—observing insects, studying plant growth from seed to harvest, and learning about environmental stewardship.

This one-of-a-kind “neighborhood house,” where nature has reclaimed its place, is a single-story building constructed from cut stone and designed in line with the BDM1 (Bâtiments Durables Méditerranéens) sustainability approach. “The building’s construction meets strict environmental criteria—from insulation and airtightness to the sourcing of its electrical components,” notes Youba Mazouz, business manager for the project.

Terceo’s experts were tasked with executing the high and low voltage electrical work. Their scope included the installation of the intercom system, anti-intrusion system, access control, and fire safety system (SSI). “We also equipped all electrical outlets with energy meters and ensured that the lighting complied with the site’s required light intensity thresholds,” Mazouz adds.

Beneath the nearby residential towers, the compact, ground-level building boasts strong insulation through its floors, walls, and ceiling, and is topped with a green roof planted over raw concrete. Designed as an exhibition space by the Zakarian-Navelet agency, it features wooden joinery and uses air fans instead of traditional air conditioning for cooling—underscoring its eco-conscious design.

The Bougainville Park House was delivered in sync with the park’s first completed phase, which was inaugurated on February 24, 2024. Once fully developed, the park will span four hectares south of the Aygalades urban valley, turning a formerly degraded site into a thriving green oasis for the community.
