STRABAG Rail has been commissioned by DB Netz AG to upgrade the Köpenick rail station in south- east Berlin to handle indigenous rail business. The new station is a crucial element of Berlin’s transport conception and part of the expansive design to modernise the west- east corridor from Berlin to the Polish border near Frankfurt( Oder). STRABAG Rail Gmbh is leading the comprehensive modernisation works together with STRABAG AG, STRABAG Fahrleitungen GmbH and ZÜBLIN Stahlbau GmbH. The contract value amounts to around€ 154 million.
