Skanska Secures $250M Contract for Terminal E Modernization at Boston Logan Airport
Skanska has signed an additional contract with the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) to deliver a new parking garage and infrastructure improvements at Terminal E of Boston Logan International Airport. Valued at USD 250 million (approximately SEK 2.6 billion), the contract will be recorded in Skanska’s U.S. order bookings for Q2 2025.
This project is part of Massport’s Terminal E Renovation and Construction (TERC) Program and involves building a new, multi-level parking structure of over 67,400 square meters (725,000 square feet), offering approximately 4,000 parking spaces. The lower levels will be designated for ground transportation services.
The scope also includes the construction of a vehicular bridge linking the garage to the central parking complex and a pedestrian bridge providing terminal access. Upgrades to the Arrival and Departure level roadways will ensure improved traffic flow and connectivity.
Sustainability is a key feature of the project, which will include the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to help offset energy usage. Skanska aims to achieve Parksmart certification from the Green Building Certification Institute, recognizing sustainable parking structure design and operations.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with project completion anticipated in 2030.
