Red Sea Global Unveils ADRENA Adventure and Entertainment District
Red Sea Global (RSG), the visionary developer behind the regenerative tourism destinations The Red Sea and AMAALA, has announced the launch of its newest attraction: an adventure and entertainment district named ADRENA. Following a soft launch for guests on 15 February, the district will officially open to the public from 1 March, offering a unique destination for thrill-seekers, families, and leisure travelers alike.
Location and Accessibility
ADRENA is situated just a short drive from Shura Island, placing it at the heart of the Red Sea destination while remaining easily accessible for visitors from across the region. Its location was carefully chosen to complement the pristine natural environment surrounding it, allowing guests to enjoy both exhilarating activities and the serenity of untouched landscapes. The district is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring zero-depth entries at pools and adaptable options for activities such as bodyboarding, paddleboarding, diving, and snorkeling. This ensures that guests with mobility challenges or accessibility needs can fully enjoy the offerings.
Activities and Experiences
ADRENA offers an expansive range of activities for visitors of all ages and skill levels. The district’s adventure-focused attractions include a saltwater surf pool, which at 215 meters long will be the largest in Saudi Arabia upon opening. The surf pool’s waves can reach heights of up to 2.1 meters and are fully customizable to accommodate beginners, intermediate riders, and experts alike.
For water sports enthusiasts, ADRENA also features a wakeboarding lake, snorkel trails, and a 6-meter deep diving pool. Families are catered to with a children’s waterplay area, a floating inflatable obstacle course, and areas designed for casual beach sports such as volleyball and football.
The district also embraces extreme sports with offerings like an overwater zip line and a 10-meter high “slip ‘n’ fly” slide. Adventure extends beyond the water, with a skatepark and a BMX pump track providing space for land-based thrills and skill-building. ADRENA is designed not just as a park but as a gateway to outdoor adventure, allowing visitors to explore both structured attractions and the surrounding wilderness.
Day and Night Entertainment
ADRENA isn’t limited to daytime fun. After sunset, the district transforms into a vibrant entertainment hub. The beach club offers an inviting space to relax with rhythmic house music played by live DJs, complemented by a curated mocktail menu and South American-inspired cuisine. Visitors can enjoy the evening ambiance at the infinity pool, which overlooks breathtaking views of the Red Sea sunset.
Whether guests are seeking adrenaline-pumping activities during the day or a relaxing social experience at night, ADRENA provides a seamless mix of both, catering to different moods and preferences.
Concept and Inspiration
The name ADRENA is inspired by a combination of the words ‘adrenaline,’ ‘arena,’ and ‘dream,’ symbolizing the district’s commitment to excitement, energy, and imagination. The concept behind the district emphasizes not just thrilling experiences, but also a lifestyle connection – the freedom of coastal living, community engagement, and a deep connection with nature.
John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, explained:
“Our unique adventure and entertainment district isn’t just about offering thrilling experiences; it’s about embodying the freedom of a coastal lifestyle – the energy, the community, the connection with nature. We’ve built ADRENA with sustainability at its core, demonstrating our commitment to regenerative tourism and ensuring an unforgettable experience for every guest, day and night.”
Expert Management and Operations
ADRENA is led and managed by Red Sea Sports & Entertainment Co., the same team behind other adventure and activity-focused attractions in the region. The company operates WAMA, which specializes in water sports, Galaxea, offering immersive underwater experiences, and Akun, which provides land-based adventure activities. This ensures that guests at ADRENA will benefit from expert guidance, top-tier facilities, and world-class safety standards across all activities.
Sustainable Design
RSG has prioritized sustainability in the design and operation of ADRENA. The district employs a closed-loop water system that draws seawater, filters and circulates it through the attractions, and then returns it clean to the environment. Any freshwater used is recycled for irrigation, minimizing environmental impact. By embedding sustainable practices in every aspect of the development, RSG demonstrates its commitment to regenerative tourism while ensuring visitors enjoy a high-quality experience that respects the surrounding ecosystem.
Culinary and Social Experiences
Beyond adventure, ADRENA provides rich culinary and social offerings. Guests can enjoy the district’s beach club, live music programs, and dining options that combine global flavors with local inspiration. The curated mocktail menu and beachside lounges create the perfect setting for relaxation and social interaction, enhancing the overall experience for families, groups, and solo travelers.
Family-Friendly Fun
ADRENA has been designed with families in mind, offering experiences that appeal to all age groups. Children’s waterplay areas, family-friendly snorkeling trails, and floating obstacle courses make the district a destination where both parents and children can enjoy activities together. By combining adventure, relaxation, and safe recreational spaces, ADRENA positions itself as a holistic entertainment destination.
Future of Regenerative Tourism
ADRENA complements RSG’s broader vision for regenerative tourism in the Red Sea region. The first guests arrived at The Red Sea in 2023, with nine hotels now open, alongside the Thuwal Private Retreat off the coast of Jeddah. The nearby Red Sea International Airport (RSI) provides a gateway for domestic and international travelers, with regular flights from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Doha, and Milan. By integrating sustainable development with high-quality leisure and adventure experiences, ADRENA strengthens The Red Sea’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
A Destination for All
From adrenaline-pumping surf sessions to serene sunset views by the infinity pool, ADRENA has something for everyone. Its thoughtful combination of adventure, entertainment, and sustainability offers a unique experience that extends the boundaries of traditional resort attractions. Visitors can expect memorable days and nights, whether seeking extreme sports, family-friendly recreation, or social relaxation by the water.
With its grand opening on 1 March, ADRENA is poised to become a key attraction in The Red Sea, reflecting Red Sea Global’s commitment to innovative, sustainable, and immersive tourism experiences.
