Radian Completes Real Estate Services Sale, Signs Agreement to Divest Title Business as Strategic Transformation Accelerates
Radian Group Inc. has announced two significant strategic transactions that further its transformation into a global multi-line specialty insurance company. The company has completed the sale of its Real Estate Services business to real estate technology and services platform PLACE and has also entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Title business to the same company.
The divestitures represent another major milestone in Radian’s long-term strategy to streamline its operations, sharpen its focus on core insurance businesses, and strengthen its position in global specialty insurance markets. While the Real Estate Services transaction has already been finalized, the sale of the Title business remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of the year.
Although the financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed, the sales are expected to complete Radian’s previously announced initiative to divest the non-core operations that were historically reported under the company’s “All Other” business segment.
Strategic Shift Toward Specialty Insurance
The latest announcements reflect Radian’s continued execution of a strategic transformation plan unveiled after a comprehensive business review conducted in 2025. That review led the company to reassess its portfolio and identify opportunities to concentrate resources on higher-growth, higher-value insurance businesses while exiting operations that were no longer central to its long-term vision.
By divesting the Real Estate Services and Title businesses, Radian is simplifying its corporate structure and directing greater attention toward expanding its specialty insurance capabilities across international markets.
The strategy builds on the company’s acquisition of Inigo, a Lloyd’s specialty insurer, which marked a pivotal step in Radian’s evolution from a leading U.S. mortgage insurance provider into a diversified global specialty insurance organization.
CEO Highlights Strategic Milestone
Rick Thornberry, Chief Executive Officer of Radian, described the transactions as an important achievement in executing the company’s strategic roadmap.
According to Thornberry, the completed sale of the Real Estate Services business and the agreement to sell the Title business demonstrate continued progress against the strategic objectives established following the 2025 review.
He noted that the company is proud of the employees who built successful Real Estate Services and Title operations and acknowledged the value these businesses have delivered to customers over the years. At the same time, he expressed confidence that PLACE is well positioned to continue growing these businesses while providing customers with expanded technology-enabled services.
Thornberry emphasized that the transactions allow Radian to fully concentrate on its long-term objective of becoming a leading global multi-line specialty insurer while creating sustainable value for shareholders.
PLACE Expands Its Real Estate Platform
For PLACE, the acquisitions represent an opportunity to strengthen its position as a comprehensive provider of technology, services, and operational support for the real estate industry.
Ben Kinney, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PLACE, welcomed the addition of Radian’s Real Estate Services business to the company’s expanding platform and expressed enthusiasm about completing the acquisition of the Title business later this year.
Kinney said both businesses bring valuable expertise, established customer relationships, and complementary service capabilities that align closely with PLACE’s long-term strategy.
The acquisitions are expected to enhance PLACE’s ability to serve real estate professionals, homeowners, institutional clients, and other industry participants through an integrated platform combining technology with specialized real estate services.
By incorporating these operations, PLACE intends to build upon the strong foundation established by Radian’s experienced teams while continuing to deliver innovative solutions that improve efficiency and customer experience throughout the real estate transaction process.
Continued Momentum for Radian
Radian’s leadership believes the company is entering a new phase of growth as it sharpens its strategic focus and expands internationally.
Mike Weinbach, Radian’s CEO-Elect, said the company’s transformation continues to gain momentum and positions Radian for long-term success in global insurance markets.
He explained that Radian’s established mortgage insurance franchise, combined with its growing specialty insurance operations, provides a strong platform for disciplined capital allocation, sustainable earnings growth, and long-term shareholder value creation.
Weinbach also emphasized that expanding into specialty insurance gives the company access to significantly larger and more diversified international markets while reducing reliance on any single business segment.
Building on the Inigo Acquisition
The strategic transformation announced today follows one of the company’s most important acquisitions in recent years.
In February 2026, Radian completed the acquisition of Inigo, a specialty insurance company operating within the Lloyd’s insurance marketplace, for approximately $1.67 billion.
The acquisition significantly broadened Radian’s insurance capabilities by adding specialized underwriting expertise across multiple commercial insurance lines while expanding its presence in international insurance markets.
The purchase also represented a fundamental shift in the company’s business model, positioning Radian to compete across a broader range of specialty insurance sectors beyond its traditional mortgage insurance operations.
Together with the divestiture of non-core businesses, the Inigo acquisition reflects Radian’s commitment to building a more diversified and resilient insurance enterprise.
Simplifying the Business Portfolio
Corporate portfolio optimization has become an increasingly common strategy among financial services companies seeking to improve operational efficiency and strengthen shareholder returns.
For Radian, exiting the Real Estate Services and Title businesses enables management to dedicate greater financial resources, leadership attention, and investment toward expanding its core insurance franchises.
Simplifying the organization may also improve operational efficiency by reducing complexity and allowing management teams to focus on businesses that offer stronger long-term strategic alignment.
The divestitures complete an important phase of Radian’s restructuring efforts while creating opportunities for PLACE to further develop businesses that complement its existing real estate technology ecosystem.
Once regulatory approvals are obtained and the Title business sale is finalized, Radian expects to have completed the divestiture of all non-core businesses previously included within its “All Other” reporting segment.
With these transactions largely complete, the company intends to focus on expanding its position as a global multi-line specialty insurer by leveraging its established mortgage insurance leadership together with its growing specialty insurance platform.
As insurance markets continue to evolve and demand for specialized risk solutions increases, Radian believes its streamlined business model, diversified insurance portfolio, and disciplined capital strategy will provide a solid foundation for future growth.
Meanwhile, PLACE is expected to integrate the acquired Real Estate Services business immediately while preparing to incorporate the Title business following the anticipated fourth-quarter closing. Together, the acquisitions strengthen PLACE’s ability to deliver comprehensive, technology-enabled solutions that support real estate professionals and property owners across the United States.
The transactions mark a significant turning point for both organizations, with Radian advancing its transformation into a globally focused specialty insurer and PLACE expanding its capabilities as a leading technology-driven real estate services platform.
